The Sunshine House

Staff were wonderful. I love having access to the backyard every morning to enjoy the foliage and sunshine. Great having someone make eggs to start the day. Had shower every morning, as it was a very hot stay. Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Took long walks and the neighbourhoods were facinating. Would recommend this place to all.

The Sunshine House was very nice in a very quiet neighborhood. The host was very nice as well. Our room was great with a big king sized bed. Our only issue was we were told there no breakfast served on Sundays because it’s their day off. This wasn’t mentioned to us until Sunday morning. Plus there was no adjustments in the price without a breakfast.

Street parking, room and beds were clean and comfortable - didn’t eat breakfast but used fridge downstairs to store leftover food. Host was friendly and available for anything we needed. Would stay again. One suggestion: having a full length mirror in room would be nice.

This B&B provided a family-type atmosphere for a cost well below that of Vancouver hotels more centrally located.

It is like a house converted to several airbnbs, so a shared living space. Breakfast is included and owner is friendly, but must ask for breakfast and it is quite simple.

The home and family are nice: accommodating, clean, comfortable. The neighborhood is lovely: safe, charming ( has 2 great bakeries and an exceptional grocery story). Transportation is easily walking distance. However, personally, I realized that I don't like bed and breakfast.

My stay was fine, this accommodation is very much a room within a family home which is in a fair condition. For the price, the proximity to UBC or downtown Vancouver is good. It is not a quiet house but I brought earplugs and a portable sound machine and was able to sleep. The king sized bed was comfortable but large for the room, pushed up against a wall and bruised me each time I walked past it. Linens were nice. Breakfast was offered (even on Sunday) but I did not have the time. Lisa seems a caring host. A general update and refresh of walls, furnishings and products could make this a more valuable property but as a budget option it does the job.

We enjoyed our stay at The Sunshine House. Mrs. Joy was very sweet and accommodating. She allowed us to check in a few hours early and stay an extra hour after checkout. She stored our luggage until our cruise boarding time. The bed was very comfortable.

The house is conveniently located. The host are warm welcoming and provide flexible time for check-in which is very important.

This property’s information needs to be updated. The pictures shown of breakfast is incorrect. Breakfast is a self-serve toast and/or cereal unless you ask Lisa for breakfast, then you are given eggs, hash browns and a croissant as a choice. Breakfast is not served 7-10am, but 8-10am. Breakfast is NOT served on Sundays. The picture of the deck should be taken off as that is NOT available space to use. Also, the door to the first floor room needs to be fixed so it will close without having to lock it. The house cat found its way into our room at 2am and jumped on the bed! It was a shock! Our door was unlocked briefly so my friend could go to the w.c. Which is how the cat got in. Positive things - bed was comfortable!

Det virkede ubelejligt vi kom. Håndklæderne lugtede jordslået. Det virkede ikke som om de lad at lave morgenmad. Vi blev spurt om vi ville have æg og takkede ja, sagde vores søn kom om 5 minutter og han også gerne ville have æg, men det om aldrig. Vi fik 2 kedelige dagsgamle croissanter at dele. Bøtterne ned morgenmadsprodukter var næsten tomme. Sengene var gode.

This is a family home, not an accommodation. We booked for 3 nights, but left after a few hours because there was little privacy (could hear everyone in the house and they could easily hear us; only thing private about the bathroom was a lock on the door - you had to go through the front foyer and common area then down a hall to get to the bathroom). Also, a lot of noise (creaky floors, people talking and doing whatever it throughout the house), an overpowering smell of food, and overall, the place was unkempt. The pillows on our bed were dirty and stained, walls had chips out of them, there was dust and dirt on the windowsill area. A child let us in and handed us instructions after I asked if there would be someone telling us about the place. Instructions included not to leave valuables in the room. If you’re travelling, not sure where you’d leave your valuables. We should have read the reviews. There were a lot of warnings. Owner was unreachable to discuss our concerns or by Expedia when we raised concerns with them. She agreed to give us a partial refund, so lost about $300.00 plus the cost of the replacement hotel we fled to late that first night. Buyer beware!

Was a wonderful place.

Not much to like about this place. Terrible feline odor and cat wandered at night scratching door. Had to get Lysol spray to neutralize the smell and kill any germs. Distances to bus stop are exaggerated. If you enjoy the smell of chicken feet boiling all day you will love this place. Breakfast according to Expedia listing was nice but in reality pitiful.

Nette Familie, Betten waren ok, Frühstück für meinen Geschmack etwas wenig und (leider) nicht so wie auf den Fotos (etwas spartanischer)! City ist das t den Bus (Haltestelle keine zwei Minuten entfernt) zu erreichen (Fahrzeit ca. 15 Minuten)

A nice little Bed and Breakfast located in a very convent location to Vancouver at a good price. The parking is great as well. The owner is super nice and friendly and asked us multiple times if we needed anything. She tried to make us as comfortable as possible which was very much appreciated. We did stay in the smaller room with three adults and I would recommend the larger room if available but it is manageable. We really enjoyed our stay and again it is super convent to access Vancouver. Vancouver is a beautiful city and this is the perfect place to stay outside the city!
