Hansen Hotel

The room was in need of renovation, the door didn’t feel secure, the bed was old and uncomfortable. The floor was worn and creaked a lot. The bracket holding the shower head was broken so had to hold the shower head to shower. Only one towel and one cup were provided for the both of us to share. The bathroom had mould and smelled of sewage. When we got there the single towel and one of the pillow cases were stained. The wall to the next room was very thin and we could hear everything through it. I had to iron a shirt in the morning. There was one ironing board in the hotel that had no legs so I had to put it on the bed to iron. The iron itself was broken and leaked water when moved around. We were on the top floor so the noise of the pub was not too bad. The room was very hot and the blinds were broken. Was acceptable for a one night stay if you’ve had enough to drink to ignore all the issues. I won’t be staying again.

Not a hotel, but rooms above a pub. If you just want a room, bed and TV for a low price this is fine (room 3). It didn't help that the fire alarm went off just after midnight but at least there wss someone on site to tell us it was a false alarm. Toilet had an expected step and a showerhead holder that was broken. TV suggested Netflix, but it wouldn't connect, fine for standard channels. Windows kept thenoise out, but just as well it wasn't a heatwave. Plugs smoewhat limited. Either the milk was off or there was some other problem as the coffee was unpleasant. That said, for the money this was perfectly acceptable and only a 10 minute walk from the top of the City centre.

I am an 80 year old lady visiting family in n/c - I had to cut my visit short & return home to S/port due to horrendous bug/ insect bites I endured @ the Hanson Hotel. The bed felt it hadn’t been changed & WF did not work no bedside light hence to use the torch on my fone in the dark to go to the bathroom. Totally disgusted with the whole episode. This hotel should be reported to the environmental agency.

The room we stayed in (Number 1) is, by far, the dirtiest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The shower is caked in black mould, the sink was half blocked and covered in grime, the microwave was black inside and had old dried food over it, the floor was visibly dirty in both the bathroom and bedroom. In addition to that the shower head was broken (in two different ways), the plug socket by the bed wasn't even fixed to the wall - but we had to use it to power the tiny space heater which was supposed to heat up the massive empty room (it did not). We literally bought cleaning supplies and slippers (so not to touch the floor) to make our stay a little more comfortable. I wasnt expecting the Ritz but for £93 for the night, cleanliness would be nice...

If you just need somewhere to stay for a night, it's fine. It does its job as a place to stay. However, I don't think I'd want to stay there any longer. The bathroom stank, part of the window sill was missing, the door was hard to lock, and the wifi didn’t work. At least you couldn't hear the noise from the pub.

Something else

The staff were friendly but the room was below standard with broken windowsills and stained sheets, would have preferred the bathroom door to shut properly.

No parking available despite it being on their page. The whole hotel felt shabby, bed was uncomfortable and room was cold, only had a single duvet on a double bed and no suitable way of heating the room

The hotel is central at a good location. You can get to the centre in 20 mins by walking or by taking public transport. The staff is also very nice. The hotel is located above a nice pub, which you couldn't hear in your room. The room was very simple. The bathroom is very small and was mouldy. There were no hangers or doors in the closet, so it couldn't really be used. There is a mini fridge in the room, but it wasn't the cleanest. Same goes for the floor and the towels. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap and central option for a night or two, this hotel is alright.
