Holiday Inn Express York, an IHG Hotel

An overnight stay here was ok. Would I stay again, probably not. The things that were off-putting were so easily avoidable. The shower head was disgusting. Plenty of hot water though. The drains smelt (think sink plug hole). Housekeeping staff were in the corridor at 8AM talking loudly as if the building was empty for about 30 minutes. It only stopped when the maintenance man, knocked and tried to enter the room whilst I was drying after my shower. This was 8.30AM!!! Reported the things I have mentioned at reception as ‘constructive criticism’. Staff were very apologetic but first impressions count.

The property is exactly what it says on the tin budget hotel clean tidy breakfast was plentiful and warm staff lovely helpful freindly.only downside we seemed to be in corridor where workers were staying and constant banging of doors from 6am wasnt good

Good breakfast, not far from York as park and ride only 5 mins away

No Lift to first floor, Staff were very helpful and re-allocated a ground floor room

Love the free parking. Hard to find in the UK

The bed was a bit too soft and a double is not quite big enough for two large people. We both rolled into the middle and woke up sore. Otherwise it was ok.

Seemed understaffed at reception and rooms were quite noisy. Apart from that, a good stay that works for what it is

The staff are all freindly and helpful the ros are clean and tidy the breakfast was good and plenty of it .the bathroom in room hasnt got an extractor when i had a shower everything was covered in condensation also full toilet need upgrading and toulet bowl needs bleach amd a good scrub

Lovely clean room, comfy beds, temperature just right the whole time and really friendly welcoming staff

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Excellent experience. The breakfast was delicious and there was more than enough selection. We were visiting from Canada and spent 2 nights here. We did not have a vehicle but found it easy to use UBER. It was nice that we were able to get at drink and the small bar when we came back from a long day of site seeing.

The staff were excellent and the breakfasts were very good.

Our room was fine but mattress could do with changing as felt lumpy so not comfy.

Room tidy and shower good, but heater not very effective and breakfast options for our daughter who is vegan very limited-she had to eat elsewhere.

Nice, clean and very helpful staff.
