Hilton Playa del Carmen, an All-Inclusive Adult Only Resort

Staff was amazing but the property has gone a bit downhill since it was the Royale. There is a lot of upcharging they try to lock you in with different dinner reservations that cost an arm and a leg and they wont let you cancel them. I had to speak with the manager at the end of our stay to get one removed as we were sick snd could not make a reservation we made. Theres only 5 places to eat and maybe 2 of them are ok. The rest were not that great. Pool closes down at 5pm. There is literally only 1 place youre allowed to smoke and thats out front of the resort. So they expect you to walk a half mile from your room any time you want to smoke. No top shelf anything unless you pay for it. Beach is terrible. The only upside to this resort is the staff and proximity to 5th street. Thats it. I will not return.

This all inclusive is in the center of town so if you like to interact directly with the culture, it is a great option because you also don't have to leave the property if you prefer. I love the shows every night, this is a first all inclusive and not having to deal with tips and money was the most relaxing because the service was so damn good. The waitpeople were polite, nice, efficient and helpful. I can't say enough. The alcohol quality was my basic, but not low. I loved it. One Mexican local IPA would be a great addition but not needed. My wife and I loved this place. Hadn't been to Playa del Carmen in 25 years and this hotel made a wonderful stay. Favorites... THe asian restaurant and the waiter we had their 2 times, the taller waitress at the shows, she was great, our housekeeper and masseuses, and our check in clerk on day one. The photographer was great too. The pool area is sooo fun with a hot food snack booth. I feel you thought of almost everything! Great job to all of you from the staff all the way thru top management.

Very nice

Would recommend and would go back. The property is very well maintained, the staff is plentiful and all really nice, the accommodations are spacious and comfortable. There is ample poolside and beach side seating with full sun, partial sun and limited/no sun options. The property is large and depending on where you are staying, it can be a little bit of a walk to get to a desired destination— which can be frustrating sometimes, but there is also a lot to do. The restaurant options are decent, but the food was average.. the only spectacular meal was when we opted for a romantic dinner on our balcony. Would HIGHLY recommend— 10/10. The property is right on the water and beach was never too crowded. It is less than 5 minutes to 5th Avenue, which was fun and felt safe. Only thing I wish they would have done differently is being immediately solicited at check in to sit in on a sales pitch. After traveling all day it’s not really the first conversation you want to have when first checking in to a new destination. They entice you with a $200 voucher and the sales pitch is a minimum of 90 minutes (for us was over two hours) which they want you to do the very next morning. It didn’t feel considerate or respectful of our time. It felt like their agenda was more important than our time. Aside from that, enjoyed the property and again would recommend and go back.

One of the best resorts we have stayed so far. We’ll come back again next year. My fiancée and I were having so much fun, that we just wanted to stay there for more days. Definitely recommended spot in playa del Carmen. It’s a minute walk to 5th avenue and some excursions were close to us.

The resort was nice, sadly it just seemed that everything was an upscale or an extra charge. The food was marginal at best and you had to hunt for a drink.

We had the most amazing 5 days at the Hilton adult only resort! The staff were exceptional, very friendly and accomodating to our dietary needs (gluten free). One of the managers Ana was particularly kind and often checked in to make sure we were satisfied with all services, she even called our room to thank us the night before we checked out. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting a fun but relaxing holiday and we hope to return in the future!

The only 2 complaints I had was the water did not get hot in the shower and the beach isn't swimmer friendly. Most times the shower water was luke warm at best. And I get it, its Mexico and hot, but I still like hot showers. The beach was nice, but there are a lot of huge rocks as soon as you walk in the water. We had to go down the beach to the next resort to enjoy the ocean water. Other than that, amazing property and amazing stay!

Excellent stay for the 1st time in Mexico!

Beautiful resort. Enjoyed my stay. The only concern was the service received from front desk. I did talk to the hotel staff on expedia that its our honeymoon and unfortunately the welcome package for honeymoon wasnt noted or arranged until the third day of my stay later at evening after calling the front desk 2-3 times. I bought this matter to Sheila who was very kind but seemed like she wasnt bothered at all. Victor in the restaurant section was outstanding.

Wonderful property with delicious food and great customer service !

The place is beautiful and offers excellent services. The personnel is very professional and polite. However, restaurants food is average, and there is none existent beach because it is too rocky and not very pleasant.

We had rooms 1139,1141 & 1143. Those were perfect location to pool and dining for our group. The poolside games and activities were great to watch and or participate in. Night time performances did not disappoint! Zander and the pool side crew were awesome and attentive. This was our 4th time there and the 1st time for our friends. Would go back in a heart beat!
