Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Downtown

Great location for access to the hospital (Corewell) and also a great Italian restaurant just a short walk away. Appreciated the attached parking ramp. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. The only complaint was on our day of check out, which was at noon, the cleaning people pounded on the door and attempted to enter the room at 8:45am. The Do Not Disturb sign was on the door. When I yelled through the door that i wasn't interested, they left, but pounded on the door again at 10 am. This was unacceptable to me especially since check out wasn't until noon.

I was disappointed this time because all of the garbage cans were overflowing and not taken care of. The front desk help was not friendly. Rude.

Charged $18 for parking at the hotel that was not part of the prepaid $200 hotel fee and $100 for incidentals. Stayed one night for a conference that Hampton Inn uses to take advantage of people attending the conference.

I like easy and convenient t was for downtown Grand Rapids activities. The conditioner bottle was empty and staff at the front desk we’re having personal conversations and had to be interrupted to ask for help. Would have been nice if staff stopped their personal conversation and asked if they could be of assistance so guest didn’t feel like a bother. But otherwise overall room and location were great.

The entire experience was amazing! Staff were friendly, engaged, and went out of their way to meet my needs. Everything was convenient from parking, room location, ice etc. In addition the pool and hot tub were well maintained and had a nice vide for everyone. One snag is I got locked in the elevator but rhe staff were quick to respond, had the fire department deployed, and made sure I was okay upon my release. They comped my room and were very apologetic!

it was totally average. the hotel looked nice but had its quirks. it took about 10-15 minutes for the shower to heat up, pillows were from the 70s, and the set up to the room didn't make sense. for the cost of the room and having to pay for parking, it left a less than average feel to it. but grand rapids is awesome and we had a good weekend despite the overpriced accommodations

It was nice but maybe a little understaffed, even though it wasn’t busy. They didn’t include any amenities in the room, like toothbrush /toothpaste, complimentary bottle of water, and only one bar of soap. This may be common in the travel industry nowadays, but is ridiculous because the room costs over $200 a night. I didn’t expect tons if stuff or things to take home, but when we called to ask for water and a toothbrush, no one even offered to deliver it. We were told to go to the lobby to get it. Also, a cleaning person checked us out when we were leaving, because they didn’t have any other employees and it was around 11:00 am. Everyone was kind and I would come again, but I just want ppl to know what to expect. Room was clean and pool was nice. When we did talk to employees, no one was rude or anything.

I wasn’t aware of the parking fee.

Kids loved the pool. Wife loved the hot tub. I loved the coffee. The restaurant Palio is just down the block with excellent Italian food. Staff was super friendly and it was just a great way to spend New Years. Thank you!

There was no tv remote, the phone did not work, the pool was closed it was a disappointing stay for sure
