Harbor Base Pineapple Inn

The pillows and sheets smelled of dirty laundry and mildew, it permeated ONTO my skin and I couldn’t sleep. I slept in the car and used the bathroom, terrible It’s just the price of what I paid for. Whatever.

This place had very bad wifi. It had 5 wifi connections and none of them were usable. Pages timed out or took minutes to load. My verizon data didnt work here either. Had to hang out at Dunkin Donuts for 3 hours to get my work done. Both ice machines were out of service. Hotel had a different name, Harbor Base, than listed in Hotels. Pineapple Inn.

This is a no-frills motel and we were only there for one night, so it served it's purpose. My one complaint is that there was not a coffee pot in the room. There was coffee served in the lobby but the lobby didn't open until 10 a.m. This was very frustrating. On the positive side, I had asked if I could get a room with a tiny freezer in the fridge (for cold packs for cooler). Our room had a dorm fridge with a small freezer above it! This was more than I expected. Also, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

According to room description it suppose to have coffemaker. None. There was coffee in the office. But the office is closed till 10:30 - too late fir morning coffee. Room has no table/dresser tble height. One chair placed behind TV.

It was just as described and a perfect place to stay to explore nearby Newport. Thank you for providing a safe and economical stay in the area!

Good accommodation considering lower price. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was slightly dated but nice and clean.

Had a great overnight stay here. The room was recently remodeled. It was nicely renovated and clean. The Jed was very comfortable. We were looking for an inexpensive place to spend one night while visiting family and this worked perfectly for us.

Dirty floors all over, Sheets not changed in days. We changed our room for a less smelly one. Bathtubs and bath curtain was the worst. The front door was hard to close and had a gap. For $200 a night it was a rip off. Very unpleasant !

If you need a cheapish place to stay around the area then this is fine but not worth the price. Only have the bare minimum and during the entire day and night, it smelled like poop outside. As if they were cleaning out the septic or something

Place is located well near the Naval War College and also Newport area. It is an older location and was ok with older type air conditioner. Shower was a bit slow and strong pressure. So a bit pricey for what you get. Fairly clean but just old property that could use an overhaul.

A very well run budget propery. Worth the money spent. Would stay here anytime. The only downside is the wifi is very spotty. The upside of that is less distractions. 👍

We had two different stays a few days apart, 1st stay the beds were like rocks! and a couple was fighting so bad they sounded like they were coming through the wall at 11:30 at night. The woman was screaming for help at the top of her lungs. We were waiting for fun shots or cops, when it was mentioned to the management, their response was why didn’t you call the cops? Ummmm NO phone in the room and WIFI and internet SUCKED!!!!! Her response well it’s over now and there’s nothing we can do but move past it. The second stay was great, beds were comfy, but the ice machine was broken….it was much quieter and we enjoyed it. Why twice you ask, they didn’t have a room available Fri or Sat and we were there till Tuesday morning working the US Open!

The entire experience was kind of meh. Checking in I wanted to change my reservation to stay one less night and the clerk said that that was not possible. So, I paid for it and did not stay for one extra night. I was promised daily maid service which did not happen. Granted this is a budget motel, but even then, I would expect friendlier service and a better experience. Next time in town, I will look for other accomodations.

As soon as I arrived at Harbor Inn I knew I had made a mistake, but it was too late to book anywhere else… The Harbor Inn sheets are threadbare and the beds have no padding, i slept on top of the comforter and the comforter from the other bed and I could still feel the springs in my back… The Harbor Inn bathroom has rusty fittings, paint peeling off the walls, light is wired to a very loud noisy fan, tiny towels feel like sandpaper and the water is barely warm enough on full hot… The entire vinyl floor was COVERED with black dirt, and I had to clean it myself with a towel, there is NO housekeeping - an obese lady brings towels if you can find her… There is NO coffee anywhere at Harbor Inn (I tried the front desk at 8:45am and the door was still locked), no phone in room, no clock, no hairdryer, two out of order ice machines from the 1950s (filled with leaves) and an empty, out of order vending machine… The icing on the cake was going to the Harbor Inn front desk and there was no one at reception, so I said “hello” and waited a minute, then said hello again a little louder and waited another minute, and five minutes later the “manager” who looks 10 years old came out yelling at me for being rude?!? I was shocked… I’ve never seen a worse place (besides horror movies) and I can’t believe that any website has them listed in their database!! I guarantee every good review is a fake autobot. Pathetic excuse for a place to stay…

No free bkft

Motel badly in need of renovations. Old and dark. Room had to be changed due to possibility of flood from bad drainage. Bed clean and comfortable. Front desk Christine friendly and welcoming.
