The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort

The golf course is great and lots of activities. The rooms are small and dated. To the point of “I can’t believe hat I paid that much for this room”. But the resort makes up for it somewhat.

This is one of my favorite places to come to. It’s old timely. I’ll sacrifice updates for the charm. The staff is always friendly and helps out when needed. The golf course is challenging (bring your long irons) will be back again and again

The property is very dated. It could use some more modern features in the charming historic rooms. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly. Everything was clean. The location on the river is amazing. Be sure to canoe the Delaware River. The Thai place on Buttermilk Falls Road is amazing

Great place to stay. Could use some updating/renovations. But great for families.

I don't feel good

Room smelled and it was moldy They changed our room to another . It was next to the cleaning room where staff was coming in and out. Terrible experience. I would never come again to stay:

Not happy that our accommodation was in the outside lodge that had less of standard then main house. The outside smell was awful from the sewer too.

Place has main bldg accommodations, however the accessory bldg was our room assigned, that was lesser of quality, etc

This Inn was amazing! Lived that they had multiple places you could grab something to eat or just hang out at. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back

The museum was cool. Overall the Shawnee Inn is old. Much of the property could use some renovations. Our room in particular had a mirror and shelf in the bathroom that were both coming off the wall. The metal in the bathroom was rusty. Our bed rail popped off when we sat down one night. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly so we opened the window…there was no screen but our room was hot. The flip side…Shawnee Craft Brewing was spectacular! We ate there 2 nights and it was delicious…the food and the beer! Highly recommend!

Great place for a 50th b day

Very nice. History is very interesting. I loved the historical vibe.

Great staff

We ended up not in the main building. It was in poor condition, had no closet but had a new bathroom. The shower was to small and I’m not a big person. I would not go back. I got sick after eating diner the first night. Don’t know if it was a virus or food poisoning. I must say the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They were truly the best part of our stay.

The resort was beautiful but we had a slight inconvenience while checking out. We had booked our room through expedia but the resort did not get the reservation. Due to this reason,during check in we were given a different room for one day and the staff asked us if we could move to a different room for the next two days. We agreed but we were not informed about an additional cost for the room shift. So when we were checking out this was news to us and it would have been better if the staff had informed us beforehand about the extra charge.

There was no indication from the booking that we would not be staying in the main hotel. The Delaware Lodge was clean, but not well kept and there were groups of men staying there who were loud and partying in the hallway both days. The bathroom was updated, but the bedroom had no closet and a very tiny table with an old wooden chair as the only place to sit. The golf course was beautiful, but we booked 18 holes for Friday and someone recorded it as 9 holes for Saturday. Luckily, we were able to play 9 holes on Friday.

It was built in 1911 and the property is really cool, but they have done a poor job at updating and keeping up with regular maintenance. The Delaware lodge is gross. Room renos were done in 2022, but the building was in bad shape with roof leaks and water damage on ceilings and walls. We moved to the Main Inn. There the hallways smelled, the drop ceilings were dingy and had water damage, the carpets were tattered, and they painted over wallpaper that is peeling. Once in the room, it had a renovated bath, flooring, paint, and new headboards. A coffee maker, big TV, and small fridge were provided. The beds were new and comfortable. On first impression the room looked nice, but after sitting in it for a while we noted the poor quality workmamship in the painting. There was paint on the picture frames, curtains, windows and moldings. Our air conditioning went out after midnight on our last night, making for a miserable sleep. Walls throughout the Inn were beat up and chipping everywhere and there was paint all over the restaurant floor where it was obvious no drop clothes were used. We tried to enjoy a fire outside and staff refused to give more wood just before 10:00. The Italian food was amazing, front desk staff was accommodating, and hotel staff great. Golf got rained out and rain checks were given. There is potential for this resort to be amazing and I know it was in its heyday, but they need to hire a new painter and pay better attention to small details.
