A lovely pub . we had great accomodation high up with our own parking and beautiful views. terrace to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Our first Impression of our arrival in Aberdovey wasn't good. It is worth stating that only the suites at the hotel have reserved parking, other rooms have to use the nearby council car park, which is convenient, but costs an eye watering £15,40 a day. Not the hotel's fault of course, but I think guests should be made aware. The car park does not accept cards either, only cash and the App.
We were allocated a room on the top floor, the stairs are rather small, and difficult to manouver with luggage, and badly scuffed in places. Our room was very spacious, with a comfortable bed with quality bedding. The bathroom too was spacious with good quality towels. There was a kettle plus tea & coffee, together with a small sofa and coffee table.
It was very hot during our stay there, and there is no air conditioning of course, nor fans provided, so only the small windows to provide any airflow. However, the kitchen extractor fan(s) were located outside the bedroom window, and were going until almost midnight every day, from around 7am. This together with the heat meant poor quality sleeping every night.
The cooked breakfasts were very good, but not the "Continental" option, only apples, oranges, cereals and a few croisants were available most days plus toast, and yoghurts if they had any. No rolls, meats, vegetables or cheeses. Water for hot drinks is from an Urn, no coffee machine. The "Continental" items ran out frequently every day.
Note: the Kitchen Hygene Rating is only 3.

+A clean room, polite staff, a good breakfast.
- Our room was on the second floor, a bit of a climb with luggage (no lift). It was a heatwave weekend and the small double room would have benefitted from the supply of a fan. The tables outside could do with parasols, too, for such weather (80 - 90 degrees).

Our two nights stay was fabulous I would definitely recommend staying here. All the staff were extremely friendly and hard working. Our room was very spacious and very clean we were in Suite 16 which also had its own car parking space which was very handy. We will definitely book to stay here again.

Received a warm welcome when we arrived and were directed to our room. We stayed in one of the Suites which are in a separate building from the pub, with outside steps leading down to the pub. The car can be taken up a steep slope where there is dedicated parking for each Suite room. We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast each morning, which was consistently delicious for the 3 days of our stay. Pre-booking is advisable for evening meals, and these were always lovely.
Our Suite room was huge with a sofa (can be turned into a bed and would be ideal for a family) chair, dressing table, plenty of storage space, drawers and hanging. Lots of plug sockets. TV, tea and coffee making plus a fridge. It was cool weather during our stay and the bathroom had a heated floor which was welcome. Large walk in shower plus separate bath. Lots of windows so the place is bright and airy. Balcony with table and chairs with wonderful views overlooking the Estuary. Comfortable bed.

Beautiful location and fabulous rooms, suites with sea views. Book the suite as includes parking as car park up road is £15 24hrs. I would recommend upper suite as was awake at 6:30 with upstairs banging about.
Staff lovely, good choice of drinks & food.
Scenic walks and the beach is gorgeous.
Be careful if you buy an icecream as the seagulls will take it out of your hand!
We had a lovely chilled break. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful hotel/pub with a breath taking view over the Dyfi estuary.
Set in cottages built in 1750s it has lovely nooks and crannies and quirky floor levels but the beds and bathroom are all first class.
Notes worth knowing, the Hotel is 100 yards from the Penhelig request train stop but the hotel does not have a carpark. There is a public carpark around the corner at £15.75 a day or a few on road parking free 6pm to 9am.

Nice hotel. Stayed in small dog friendly double room on second floor which had a view over the sea. Although we were on the main road. It was very quiet in the evening & overnight so we slept quite well. Unfortunately, we found that we couldn't close the blind as the mechanism seemed to be stuck. Therefore, the light shone through the sides of the window causing the room to be lighter than we would have liked. Luckily, I had a sleep mask with me but my husband woke early as the room was so bright.
Although the room was compact we still had enough room to move around & had a good sized on suite. The room was very warm as it was a sunny day & the room seemed to get a lot of sunlight. Good in the winter but I imagine it could get very hot in the summer.
Although we didn't have breakfast at the hotel we did enjoy a meal in the bar where they had a dog friendly area. We both enjoyed the burgers. It was nice that they offered gluten free burger buns.
We had a good overnight stay & would stay again if we were travelling in that area.

There were power cuts in the village which caused a multitude of problems for the staff but they went the extra mile and did everything they could to make all the guests as comfortable as possible. On that basis alone, we would highly recommend.

What a gem of a small, cosy hotel! I booked a small double, but we were upgraded to a suite with a sea view, as it was my daughters birthday. Beautifully clean, with white fluffy towels, toiletries, tea, coffee and a fridge!
The staff go above and beyond to make your stay more comfortable....very friendly, helpful, kind and very generous. My daughter was provided with a birthday cake, which i asked for their help for shopping for one as a surprise for my daughter.....they didn't even charge me for this ! Biscuits and sausage for our dog, again, not charged! Outstanding customer focused services.....we've never received such great hospitality. Thank you to Jasmine, Morgan and Autumn for making our stay extra special, we really appreciated it xx
