Wine was ridiculously expensive. £23 for two glasses!

We booked dinner for 5.30pm as we attending a show at 6.30pm. The night before we were contacted to dsy we couldn’t eat them as they had a wedding. We ending up buying food and eating in our pretty small room. When we arrived back from our show at 9.45, we were told the bar was closed so we couldn’t get a drink. Disgusted and very unhelpful

the staff were excellent if you could find them one person doing check in and running the bar remembering the hotel was full for a wedding breakfast food excellent but no staff and the food kept running low eggs bacon etc AND AS FOR THE HEAT NO AIRCON SOME ROOMS YOU COULD NOT OPEN THE WIDOW OR JUST OPEN THEM EVERY GUEST COMPLAINED THEY GOT NO SLEEP IT WAS UNBEARABLE this used to be a beautiful place now am sorry to say awful but the grounds are beautiful I well never stay there again waited one hour to get a pint and i was the only person at the bar

Room was like never been cleaned for ages, rotten tea bags inside mugs and glasses were stained. Floor and carpet very filthy.

Our stay was perfect, the amenities were nice, food was delicious and the staff was exceptionally welcoming.

The only reason i gave this hotel four stars is that i had to go for the cheapest room. Had only one Tiny window and that doesn't help if you need light for work. I'm sure more expensive rooms were great, I just didn't had a chance to experience it. Restaurant was outstanding. And staff ... beypnd expectations. They will go not only an extra mile for you, but ten miles. I felt welcomed and important.

Nice and quiet place perfect as our «hub» for daily travels and sightseeing in this part of Scotland. Good rooms and beds, and a fairly good restaurant for breakfast as well dinner.

The room we had was very spacious, I loved the character of the building, the staff were brilliant and very friendly. Will definitely be back.

Rooms are clean and very well appointed. Mixed bag of staff, ranging from keen, knowledgeable and helpful to disengaged. Breakfast at best was just OK, nothing outstanding or memorable, with a very limited range of breads. Bar person Laughlin was excellent, but poor stocks of both mixers, wine and liquors left him struggling to satisfy basic requests. Evening meal was consumed in the bar area, which was fine, food was very good and a great range on the menu. Mixed feelings on the quality of stay, so giving a 3 from 5.

Phenomenal stay at Thainstone House. From the food, to the spa to the incredible staff it was beyond perfect. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful!

Breakfast at £16.50 a bit steep

We booked a Deluxe room with the bonus of EV charging on site. Except there wasn't as they didn't have a contract with a supplier.The room was on the ground floor directly across from other rooms, approximately 4 metres away, with windows facing each other, with a walkway between so there were people walking past the room regularly. The room was also about 10 metres from the drop off point for deliveries to the hotel and the bins as well. Our first morning there was a delivery, starting at around 7. Woke to the sounds of a truck and deliveries being made. Not the only noise problem either. There was another bedroom above ours - guests walking around, toilet and shower noises - all clearly audible. Possibly because there was a poorly fitted hatch in the roof of our room, with gaps, holes and areas not painted. That was probably done to fix a previous flood from upstairs - evidenced by the obvious damage on the bathroom ceiling and the small patch of black mould still there. It may also explain why the extractor fan in our bathroom wasn't working. The mould on the ceiling partnered the mould on the bottom of the shower screen. There were a number of other small defects around the room, too many to list here. Thought to ring reception but that wasn't going to work when the phone in the room was clearly only for display - didn't even have a connector on the end of the wire so it could be plugged in. Staff were unable to help with a room change. Overall a poor, tired, hotel.

Good hotel with leisure facilities .Definitely recommend this hotel

We loved our visit! We stayed for one night with our dog, and felt welcome and taken care of. As we visited in July, the hotel was in the warmer side, but thankfully the windows in the bedroom opened and there was a small fan provided that we made use of. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. Because we had our dog with us, we were sat in the club room, but we were very happy with the service we received here, and were very comfortable at our private table overlooking the estate. The leisure facilities were very clean and had everything you need for a workout, swim, or sauna. Overall, very happy with our stay and would happily return! Only regret is not having stayed an extra night!

Everything about this hotel is outstanding from the location to the Hotel itself. The staff are lovely the food exquisite.

Comfortable stay and such helpful staff.

The room was reasonably clean but looked very tired and dingey, shower head holder was broken and when using rain shower,bath screen too short and flooded the bathroom floor. Have stayed in a lot better for a lot less!!
