Room was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere in the lounge.

Wonderful hotel with great staff and amenities

Love staying here, the atmosphere is cool, the staff is amazing. It’s the perfect location. Love all the history behind the hotel and the high tea. It’s something everyone should experience at least once.

I had an overall pleasant stay at the Fairmont Empress. The service and staff were excellent. I was especially grateful for the early check-in accommodation, which made my arrival much smoother and was truly appreciated. However, there were a few issues with the room that did not meet the expectations associated with the Fairmont brand. I had booked a higher floor, but I was placed on a lower level with a view that was not as expected. Additionally, the bathroom was not fully clean upon arrival there were long hairs on the floor and the freezer still contained food items from previous guests. While these details were disappointing, particularly given the hotel’s reputation, the overall experience was still enjoyable, largely due to the professionalism and kindness of the staff.

Room had dirty trash and recycling bin and stain on sofa. Living area colder than bedroom, had to request a space heater (Winter visit). Those with mobility issues should be aware that there are stairs required to get to different areas of the hotel like parking on P2 and a bit of a walk to get to the nearest restaurant.

The staff are extremely friendly , efficient and helpful. The room was fantastic. Highly recommend The Empress!

For you Expedia —When booking the stay, you could have added exactly what is the room name on the invoice as it only says a room .. as I paid for the upgrade unit and it didn’t say this .. so when arrived I said a name the hotel staff said that’s not the room … For the stay at hotel … was to have a city view room this was not the case it just look at the other side of the hotel so it is nota city view yet I paid for the upgrade king bed and city view … it’s was bad to pay for a city view and all you see is other side of hotel nothing else bad view… secondly there was no hotel slippers in the room or any water I had to call down and get these items … … for a fancy hotel room and hotel the robes in the room were not quality robes seem like cheap cotton only .. and in the hall could smell smoke from cigarettes.. so overall the room was just okay but the price was not worth the value received so slightly disappointed for supposedly best hotel in Victoria and the name fairmount hotel ..

Absolutely incredible!! The staff were really friendly and very courteous. The hotel was incredibly clean, with great amenities. The whole stay was phenomenal; and the food was also really great. The location is particularly the best in the area. There is tons of activities you can do, tons of places you can visit and shop. Will definitely return later this year.
