Staff all very friendly, breakfast good, stunning surrounding scenery, only a (most pleasant) 5 min river walk to Llangollen.

Great location - 10 min walk along river into Llangollen - superb town. Hotel grounds lovely, good facilities, breakfast good-ish. Room in the modern extension (20 years ago) was upgraded at small-ish cost via auction. Comfortable but creaky bed. No a/c and as bedroom was at front and weather warm, was a bit of noise...England at World Cup on TV for one of the nights! Overall, best looking hotel in town based on our search and very easy parking. Spa looked great, but didn't use.

The room was brill for me as a single room but was updated to a Twin room which was excellent,and all the staff,waitresses,bar and reception could not be more welcoming especially whe you are on your own. Could not fault

If you have a SPA, you need to be ready to provide bathing suits to your guests, at least sell them

Overall the experience was very good, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was a good quality, plenty choice and good amounts. Dinner was good but we found it to be quite expensive. The only downside was I had pre booked a room upgrade through hotels.com which was accepted prior to arrival, when we checked in the room type we had upgraded too was not available so we had too stay in our original room, it did not spoil the weekend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Hotel is close enough to walk into the Town Centre, and also to see the local attractions. The staff were very polite and friendly.

We stayed for one night. The hotel grounds were beautiful and well maintained, and our room was spacious, although the décor felt tired and in need of updating. The biggest issue was room service. The welcome book said orders had to be placed at reception, so I queued there, only to be sent to the bar. The staff member at the bar didn't know how to process room service orders, which I didn't mind, but then suggested I return to reception. After explaining I'd been sent from there, a supervisor finally took my order. What frustrated me was being sent from one place to another, wasting time, only to discover reception could likely have taken the order all along. The food was tasty, but £18 for a burger and chips felt excessive, and it arrived without cutlery. The next morning, my husband was unwell and had barely slept. I asked for a late checkout but was refused despite explaining the circumstances. The taxi numbers in the guest book were largely useless, and when we called reception for help, they simply referred us back to the same list. Lovely setting, but poor communication and disappointing service.

1st time at this hotel very nice pleased with everything would use again

Room was very spacious, clean. Lady on Reception was very pleasant, welcoming and helpful when we requested more sugar and milk. On checkout same lady was very friendly and welcomed us back. This was our 2nd stay and wont be the last. Hotel is in a nice quiet position, but very handy to Llangollen Centre. Ideally situated.
