The room was wonderful. We were upgraded upon arrival to an ocean view. Many amenities are at neighboring hotels, but if you are looking for quiet and low key, this is perfect. The fun, noisy places are steps away down the street. The front desk was very helpful. Especially Paola who gave us amazing recommendations for places to go and excursions that were off the beaten path. The air conditioning was a bit weak is the only complaint.

Alaya has a eco-friendly theme which I love. The decor and all the architrlectural aspect of the property is beautiful! The downside of the rooms was there is no fridge, and the mosquitoes are murderers!!!

Place is amazing but Tulum is definately not what it used to be. Was a ghost town and town restaurants are a rip off

This was an exceptional place to stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Their hospitality was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The views were absolutely stunning and provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The food and drinks were excellent, making it easy to enjoy a great meal on-site when we didn’t feel like venturing into town. For those who do want to explore, the location is ideal—there are numerous shops, restaurants, and conveniences just a short five-minute walk away. One of the highlights of our stay was the romantic dinner I arranged for my wife and me. The staff did a phenomenal job with every detail, creating a beautiful and intimate experience that exceeded our expectations. The service was impeccable, and it became one of our favorite memories from the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful location, outstanding service, and a truly memorable stay.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a seven day trip to Tulum. The Alaya was a great place to stay. The staff is courteous and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The location is quiet but within walking distance of amenities. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent service and gorgeous location. They set us up with bikes for easy transportation, helped us book a return car to the airport, and also had breakfast and took our order the night before so we can have it quickly in the AM because we were leaving early. Great service!

My stay at Alaya Tulum was absolutely beautiful. The entire experience felt peaceful, tranquil, and intentionally curated for relaxation. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and helpful from beginning to end, and the hospitality truly stood out. Room service was amazing, and they consistently made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. I also appreciated the thoughtful birthday touches — the champagne and cake made my celebration feel extra special. Very peaceful place. Staff is super friendly. Food and drinks are lovely. I enjoyed the morning yoga and meditation. The beach loungers could use some repairs.

Comfortable, friendly and relaxing stay with plenty to do! My stay at Alaya Tulum was amazing, from the moment I booked my stay I was contacted via WhatsApp by the service desk to confirm transportation to the hotel and to answer any questions I may have. Upon arrival me and my girlfriend got a couple complimentary drinks and even a welcome bottle of sparkling wine in our room. The property has a nice natural setting and full of palms, trees and climbing vines amongst the rooms. There are little notes around pointing out wild critters that may pass through the grounds at night (raccoons, coati, stripped iguanas and opossums). The beach is kept clear and clean each day and offers a great swimming spot at low tide. Or you can chill on the lounge chairs with coconuts or drinks from the hotel. The hotel not only offers daily yoga sessions in the mornings but every now and then meditations. The yoga was a pretty great way to stretch out before a snorkel trip. There are also many excursions you can book through the hotel like the biosphere tours, snorkelling, ruins tours and cenote visits or you can rent some bikes and go do some cenote hopping. The staff were so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Erik and Sofia were always at the front desk to help with questions or to make arrangements. Marcelo always made me and my girlfriend feel at home at Alaya Tulum if we ordered drinks he would happily offer to bring it to our rooms if we wanted and reccomended some great drinks.
