Absolutely fantastic experience. Repurposed industrial building, super cool vibe. Staff isn’t available 24/7, but you get a room code that also works for the main entrance. Under a 10 minute to walk to great restaurants and nightlife. You can’t hear your neighbours in the hotel.

Staff were great to deal with - Nabil in particular was friendly, helpful, and responsive.
Boxotel is clean, and modern. Room was spacious and clean.
Location was good - walking distance to Vieux Montreal (20 mins), and Place Des Arts (7 mins). The only part of the neighborhood that was concerning was walking along a brief stretch on Rue Ontario near Rue St. Laurent, but it's easily avoidable if you stick to the other side of the street.

The loft was an amazing space. Really enjoyed the rooftop deck and main floor balcony and the general layout. Great for work and rest. Had a couple glitchy tech and power issues so contact the hotel for assistance if it’s an issue.

Not a traditional hotel since staff isn’t readily available, which makes check-in odd and stressful. You’re greeted by a locked door and a code box with a message that you should have received a check-in code. Nope, that never happened.
You’ll be given the option to text with questions or to say you’ve checked out, and I did both. No reply, so my idea of leaving a small roller bag while out exploring the city couldn’t happen :(
Once inside, the room is great - thoughtfully laid out and kitchen equipped with everything. I didn’t investigate

For Montréal, a great decent hotel/aparthotel option, very well located, not to far from the main bus station. Pompidou style industrial design with cute touches. Bright rooms with a nice view. Good internet and efficient service. Free coffee and small breakfast available. Ventilation and noise blocking additiona could be slightly better but that was a minor personal concern, did not detract from how convenient and excellent it was for a solo business trip.

We'll definitely be staying here again. The Boxotel location is perfect for walking or taking transit to all the different places you'll want to explore. The room was clean, comfortable, and an incredible value for what you pay. The staff was incredibly helpful with check-in, figuring out where to find what we're looking for, and ensuring we were all set to travel back home.

Boxotel isn't particularly fancy, but it has everything you need for a great stay in Montreal. It is located within easy walking distance to downtown, old Montreal, the mountain and the plateau. The rooms aren't big but they are modern, comfy and well equipped. The rooftop terrace is bright and private; and the breakfast bar gives you everything you need to get on your way in the morning. We have stayed here twice and will definitely be back!
