It's a funky, retro, mid-century kind of place. The front desk agent gave me a free bottle of Okanogan Riesling wine when I completed the check-in process. There is a dollar store, a pharmacy, and a grocery store across the street. The bus stops right there.

The staff was very helpful and overall it was very clean. Room was very small and not comparable to the pictures. Parking was free but appeared very insecure. The area was not the safest but we didn’t know before we booked. The pictures on Expedia gave a very upbeat vibe. Better representative pictures are found on Google.

Property was clean & staff was excellent! The only issue I had was there was no elevator for our heavy bags. Thank goodness the lady at the desk helped me with my bag

Not a fancy hotel but it is clean and reasonably priced compared to the other downtown hotels in the city. We felt safe while staying the night and there was a very good breakfast restaurant less than a block away that gave a 10% discount when you showed your Waldorf hotel key. If you just need a place to sleep this is a good deal. We would stay again.

I was nervous, after reading the reviews about the property, location, etc. but I was pleasantly surprised by what I experienced: a CLEAN room, friendly staff, great restaurants nearby. East Village is part sketch, part hipster, very industrial. You got homeless near the liquor store (connected to the building) and at the bus stop (talking to themselves), while a line of folks wait to get into the evening drag show. I never felt in danger or like my car was in trouble. We parked the Tesla in the designated lot and it was fine all weekend. My husband was a little more concerned, but he came around by the time we checked out. He didn't like how old (I say RETRO) the property was, but it's quirky vibe and friendly atmosphere wore him down. I was relieved at how clean and well maintained the room and bathroom were. I was preparing myself to leave if anything was amiss. We checked in and got a FREE BOTTLE OF WINE in celebration of the FIFA games.😊The TV wasn't working, but the front desk staff quickly came to our room and diagnosed/fixed the problem (mostly - the remote wasn't working well).❤️ There is noise from the random street drama and music playing in the lounge, so highly suggest noise-cancelling headphones. Many tourists stay there and the connected Tiki bar was expansive with friendly service and a great menu. Ultimately, this hotel is a vital community treasure that offers unique (albeit bare bones) accomodations, near the city center at an affordable price!

Charming in it's own way

Das Personal war super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben Empfehlungen für die Frühstückslocation bekommen - was wirklich lecker war und gegenüber befindet sich ein Supermarkt! Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich gut, da man von dort aus in circa 20 Minuten in Gastown ist. Das Hotel ist natürlich in seine Jahre gekommen, allerdings war die Toilette, das Waschbecken soweit Bett sauber! Für ein zwei Sterne Hotel vollkommen in Ordnung! Würde ich es für eine Nacht in Vancouver wieder buchen - Ja!

Great place to stay, if you don’t mind the outdoor homelessness

The Waldorf is a "cool" hotel not a modern hotel. Its in a good location in East Van. Close to downtown. Really a decent central locale. Staff is really nice.

The staff was great, let me start off with that. The location is not that great. It's far from downtown, and not in the best part of town. The hotel does not have an elevator, so we did have to bring our luggage up and down, but we did get help when we first got there. There were no wash cloths in the bathroom but we were too tired to ask for them. The AC splitter made a regular noise all night and again, we were too tired to complain. The restaurant/bar next door was a plus as it allowed us to get a bite without having to venture back out in an uber back to the city. With the prices of hotels in the city, especially with the World Cup in town, this fit our budget.

We had a good stay. The location is close to the downtown, but the main road leading to downtown is sectionally bothersome with so many homeless folks. Uber rides were handy and also the bus stop in front of the hotel provided much convenience. Staff service was excellent.

Well I guess you get what you pay for all the hotel rooms near the port and near downtown are four times the amount but they're probably nice this place you know pay that much for but it's in not the greatest area the hotel needs some updating and maintenance rooms are small very minimalistic paints shipping and doors look 40 years old. If you're just looking for a place to crash for the night and you really value saving money then I guess it's not a bad place. Our Uber driver picked us up and took us to the dock to board the cruise ship and drove through an absolutely horrific view of homeless people about eight blocks away from this place Vancouver needs to really work on there social engineering because they are failing Humanity.

I really loved staying here. The hotel is centrally located and so cute! Definitely a lot of vintage character here. You can’t beat free parking, either. I am from a big city, so I am used to the quirks of a downtown area, so removing my valuables from my car did not phase me. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and I greatly appreciated my check-in gift! Overall, I would stay here again and probably will make this my regular spot for visits to Vancouver.
