room was not cleaned. The bed was left dirty from the previous occupant, a sanitary wrapper was on the bed, toilet was soiled, wet towels on the bed, dirty drinks cups. No room change could be offered, I requested refund which I was told needed to come from Expedia. I have now emailed Expedia 3 times and await their verdict on whether they will refund my money.

Spa was very over crowded and the hotel was rundown. Could do with a touch up

Beautifully situated property, helpful kind Staff, the infinity pool was lovely and access to food and drink while in the spa made it feel lovely and relaxing

We had a suite which was miles from reception up and down stairs plus the signage was poor and confusing. Reception had a care less attitude when I overheard another guest explaining their issue. Equally they didn’t care that someone had been smoking in our room and cigarette ash was on the carpet and the window frame. The bed throw was disgusting and not to be explicit I’ll leave it at that.

Room very tired looking and needed updating. Bathroom smelt. Not very pleasant ! Toilet tool holder hanging off the wall but cleanliness was the big issue for me personally

Absolutely fantastic staff where amazing couldn’t fault 1 single thing will be recommending to all my family and colleagues!!! Richard was fantastic he deserves praise.xx

The room was clean but bed extremely small, my partner and l had the worst sleep, the hotel and spa was not kept in a nice condition given the price and how well it is established. Very disappointing.

Sadly the bathroom in our room did not meet expectations, or even basic standards of hygiene. I showed photographs of the decay, and uncleaned shower head to staff. It was a shame, because we really enjoyed our time there, and importantly, we would stay there again.

Room was very dusty, bathroom sink and tub was dirty, l couldn’t even take a shower or bath. I was very disappointed ☹️

Room sweltering, window opens 2" and no way to cool down. Place was tired and needs attention. Lifts broke and windows at the top screwed shut. I could go on...

Great hotel staff were really nice spa was amazing just wouldn’t recommend having a treatment there it was very rushed and we didn’t get our full time very expensive for what we received , the food in restaurant was very good aswell other than a disappointing massage the stay was great

The room was next to a boiler or heat pump which was seriously noisy all night. Evening meal was very very poor for the price they charge. Would not stay again

Room was clean, grounds where amazing. Food was fantastic. The hotel extension is not as nice as the main hotel.

My room was very dark. Two picture lights (very dim) came on when light switch turned on. Only other lights were table lamps with I presume, low wattage bulbs as they were not bright at all. The room itself seemed clean enough, but had very tired looking furniture. All in dark wood which added to the gloomy appearance overall. Bathroom was fine. Evening menu had very little choice for vegetarians so dining for two nights was very restricted. Luckily, I do eat fish but the sea bass was the tiniest piece I have ever been served. The hotel overall is charming and has great features. The outside space looked fabulous. I did feel quite disappointed with my stay though due to the negative points I have made. All of the staff I encountered were fantastic, very helpful and welcoming.

Room and hotel are tired, phone didn't work to ask for change of room and being older the reception was miles away and no lift to the second floor. I emailed them but no response. Interconnecting room every word was heard from nextdoor. Bath seal was grubby and black, very old TV, and hard pillows. You had to pay £50 to use the pool. Very disappointed. Last time we stayed it was grubby lifts and corridors tired too but the room was more accessible and lift to first floor. Dead rose on the dinner table, food average, we ate elsewhere this time It's a shame as my son lives in bollington and we will be visiting the area often!

It was a lovely place to stay! Quiet and clean. We enjoyed the weekend away with friends!

The grounds and facilities were amazing. The staff were awesome. Really cute and domesticated peacocks roaming around! The surrounding area is beautiful and in close proximity to Manchester. However my room wreaked of cigarette smoke and the window didn't open. I stayed for a long weekend, by the end of it I had a sore throat and my hair smelt of cigarette smoke.

Staff did not let me check in at 2 even though I had requested this beforehand. I saw others checking in, so when I went to query it, another colleague allowed me to check in and said my room was ready. I’d driven a long way, so he could have just checked. So a bit disappointed, but other than that we enjoyed our stay. Would book again but would rather be served by someone helpful and friendly.
