Hôtel Jardin Du Gouverneur

Great location in a quiet corner next to the Fairmont Hotel, just minutes walk to the main Rue Saint-Jean and the road down to the lower old city area. The room was a bit old, but inevitable for staying at a historical old building. The bathroom was a bit too small, no shelf or hooks to hang clothes. But overall, the experience was good. The hotel had self serve coffee in the lobby, which was nice.

2e visite. Hôtel très bien situé, près de tout! Service extra! Petit bémol, manque de crochets dans la chambre pour le rangement et celui de la salle de bain était défectueux. Le rideau de la douche était sale, il aurait dû être remplacé. C’est un viel hôtel, avec un certain charme, il pourrait être encore amélioré, mais il est quand même bien d’y séjourner ! Lit super confortable!

The location of this hotel is perfect for a short stay in Quebec City! The staff was great. I would mention I do not recall the mention of no elevator which for one on our group was a bit of an issue but for some people it definitely would not work.

The property was clean and exactly as advertised. The location was outstanding - walkable to everywhere. Due to location, could literally never need a taxi or shared ride services. Parking garages were readily accessible to hotel too. Restaurants, shops, museum, etc. all walking distance. All near the incline too. Tour bus pickups were withing walking distance too. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the hotel was less than one full block to the river or that a peaceful park (with benches) literally faces the front entrance of the hotel! The hotel does NOT have an elevator - so pack accordingly, so you can easily manage all in one trip up the stairs or request first floor room. The staff was warm, friendly, and very helpful. The tradeoff of a no frills hotel vs. more accessibility to literally, EVERYTHING - worth if for sure!!

We could not have asked for a better location. Parking can be a bit tricky especially during peak hours for this touristic center, but the staff was super helpful trying to help us find parking. The room was perfect, spacious and comfortable. Great place. I highly recommend.

La chambre semblait bien au premier coup d’œil. Malheureusement la salle de bain manque énormément d’amour. Le cadrage de porte est moisi, les joints de la douche le sont également, la poignée de la porte de douche m’est presque restée dan sales mains pareil pour le dévidoir à papier de toilette. Aucun crochet ou tablette pour déposer nos effets personnel dans la salle de bain. Plusieurs cheveux au sol, ce qui démontre un manque flagrant d’entretien. Pour ces raisons je ne retournerai pas à cet hôtel

Excellent location! Clean room, clean sheets and comfortable bed. The hotel is old and needs alot of work but you get the basics. Rodney at the front desk was fabulous! He does it all and was very helpful and made great recommendations on where to go and what to do. One huge disadvantage is, if the people above you are noisy, you hear everything. One of our nights was horrible because of the people above us. Otherwise if you’re looking for a great location and just need a place to sleep, this is a great option.

Pros: -The location is fantastic. -The front deck lady was very helpful and sweet. -Bed sheets were clean an crisp. Cons- You will have to find your own parking. Hotel looks great on the outside. But the inside not as much. The hallways and staircase are sketchy. Room was ok but had a damaged door and trim. There was mold in the shower calking.

On arrival at the property I presented myself to the front desk and was issued a room card key. I advised the front desk staff that I was informed by a previous guest that the hotel has had issues with cleanliness and maintenance and that I wanted to inspect / see the room prior to checking in. I proceeded to the room ( # 1 main floor level). The hallway to the room was so dark and the air was dead and unpleasant. I found the shower stall interior to have excessive amounts of black fungi in the corners and many areas of failed silicone caulk where it would be impossible for staff to clean / disinfect the area of harmful infectious pathogens. I found the fan/ heater next to the toilet to be rusted and not properly cleaned and disinfected ( covered in rust and appeared to have urine stains) While doing my inspection I also focused on the bed mattress area where I found evidence of bed bug excrement ( black dots ) and exoskeletons ( their outer shells). The one window in the room had a only a very flimsy latch to lock and the was now screen in the window, (This room was ground floor next to a side walk). I reported my observations to the employee at the form t desk and advise them that the room was unaccepted and not what was promoted n there website. The employee advise me that the building was old and that there was nothing he could do about my concerns. I would not stay at the property in the future .

Guy at front desk was great ! Very friendly, helpful. Gave us tips on restaurants, shopping, parking. Room was very clean & perfect size. Everything was within walking distance. Will definitely book with them next trip.

Great location, within easy walking distance to all sights in Old Quebec. Room did not match picture. Floor and walls not clean. Mould in bathroom. Very noisy airconditioner buzzed intermittently during the night which led to very poor sleep. One desk staff was very helpful early on, but the one I spoke to about the a/c told me the noise cannot be helped because of the age of the building. You have to choose cool air or quiet, can't have both. The cost of the room was too expensive for what it was. I would not stay there again.

Well... it started with a downgrade to our room which we got nothing in return for. The PART-TIME staff were not at all helpful other than to say that they would take it up with the owners, (We had booked this room 6 months in advance). You could tell right away that you were not going to get any form of recompense from this place. The room was extremely minimalist We did not expect much more than that but the room that we had payed for was supposed to have a bath and it did not and it was supposed to be a bit larger and this room was definitely not! Not a bad location but I would strongly suggest that you find somewhere else. You will not get any form of help from the owners here.

Poorly maintained, patched unpainted wall and ceiling drywall repairs, cheap floors with dog eared edges, mish mash of furniture, cheap toiletries. Overall overpriced poor value for the condition of the property. Won’t stay here again!!

Check in was smooth with staff at front desk. Staff is friendly. The room was spacious. Two double beds. Travelled with husband and teenage son. The location is perfect for exploring old Quebec. Downside is the beds. They are uncomfortable and sheets don’t fit the beds.

Quando se faz uma reserva num hotel, existe a expectativa de entrar num estabelecimento, ser recebido por alguém na recepção que vai fazer seu check inn, explicar algumass coisas e dar a chave do seu quarto. Portanto, afirmo que de acordo com essa expectativa, não podemos classificar esse estabelecimento como hotel. Chegamos por volta das 10:00h da manhã e não havia ninguém, apenas a porta trancada. Conseguimos entrar porque havia um hóspede saindo. Na suposta recepção havia números de telefone para entrar em contato caso fosse necessário. Liguei e perguntei se poderíamos deixar a mala em algum lugar e a resposta foi para deixar na frente da recepção, sem nenhum tipo de segurança ou supervisão. Como é Canadá, consideramos a chance de sermos furtados pequena e confiamos, mas foi aquela sensação de desconforto. É um prédio velho, na região histórica, muito bem localizado, mas sem elevador e escadas estreitas e péssimas para se levar a bagagem, especialmente para quem fica no 4º andar como a gente ficou. Ficamos duas noites lá e no segundo dia o quarto simplesmente não foi arrumado e as toalhas não foram trocadas. Enfim...
