DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent

Fantastic stay, room was very comfortable and as a coeliac I requested a gluten free breakfast not from the buffet, as never trust buffet tongs when there are gluten containing items about… Tiff was fantastic and incredibly knowledgable, putting me at ease and confident about the food I received. Only stayed in passing to break a long journey but if ever in the area again then its definitely on my list of places to stay again!

On arrival the team were very welcoming and we received a lovely warm cookie. Throughout our stay the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good

You have to go looking for staff, reception desk and bar, all good when you find them. More light in the rooms is needed, controlled by the main switch, over the dresser and the main floor area.

Air-conditioning in the room wasn't working in all rooms in the hotel on a day that was 34 degrees. Staff blamed the high temperature for reducing the effectiveness of the Air-conditioning system. Next day was a more manageable 24 degrees celsius and still inoperable air conditioning in the rooms. Absolutely unacceptable. The least a guest deserves in a hotel is comfort. Better invest in a proper Air-conditioning system before the business is run to the ground.

Really pleases with the staff member Anca or Acna, sorry if I spelt wrong, She reminds me of my past when I was duty manager and go extra miles for the guests. She was really helpful and have excellent customer services skills. if I want to go there the first reason would be staff.

Receptionist was very welcoming and bubbly - gave us warm cookies!!! Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good and topped up regularly.

Clean room, helpful staff, good option of facilities on site. Even when busy with weddings the hotel was well maintained.

Lovely hotel. Shame about the wedding party. They were very loud but that can’t be helped. Otherwise the bed was awesome and staff were really nice

Room spacious and amenities were great. Had to book a slot for swimming. The menu for the bar/restaurant is limited and I personally wouldnt eat there again due to this. Both evenings friday / Saturday there was only one member of staff on the bar which caused delays so would have been better if they had more staff on but appreciate there was events on both nights. This does cause parking to become a nightmare. However overall the cleanliness of the room, how friendly staff are and proximity to the festival retail park means I would return.

Faultless

Air conditioning is not working, just the blower goes on and off for the whole stay, had very disturbed sleep for 2 nights because of the hot rooms. They provided a fan in our which was not working properly. Shampoo container was empty. Only 1 lift was working had to wait longer for those.
