Third year in a row and still the outside pool closed for repairs. No mention of this when booking, only after we paid and 3 days before travel did we receive an email to advise us of this.

Room was a disappointment, damp smell throughout, bathroom not clean, lack of towels, no biscuits, etc……. Asked for alternative but as hotel was full we couldn’t change rooms Breakfast is a bit chaotic and room stifling hot Overall every year sadly, it just get a little worse Needs some tlc Outside pool area is a disgrace and is still closed

The room was clean, the balcony had weeds and the flat roof had weeds the outside swimming pool was shut and a very small seating area outside if you want to have a drink from the bar, the outside of the building needs a lot of love, the breakfast was ok for the price and beware for the extra charge for parking....

Sea view was incredible, furniture a bit dated , balcony wasn't very clean, free parking should be included, rubbish in out system for car park , should not be operated by reception staff . Apart from that was an amazing holiday

I will start by saying we have stayed at the Imperial many many times and have thoroughly enjoyed our previous stays.... but something is missing, that certain panache no longer exists. The rear side of the hotel surrounding the main entrance is in a very sorry state and has been neglected and tuned in to a dumping ground and a `neglected area. Shockingly the outside pool is closed for maintenance, no staff members could or would discuss potential opening dates but it was implied this was a cost saving measure, or that repair costs are too expensive. That is appalling it is measured in hotel information and the welcome signage at the main entrance displays the outside pool, and hotel information states that children must be supervised in both the indoor and outdoor pools. Outdoor pool closed during a heatwave ...madness! The breakfast is very good although disappointed we ould not have poached eggs as 'we only have one chef working and it is too much fr him to do'. A huge thanks to the restaurant staff who worked tirelessly in hot conditions they are a credit to the hotel. Room as clean and maintained throughout our stay. In summary the location, seaview rooms and outdoor pool are a huge draw so disappointing that services are being reduced but prices continue to rise. Beware of £10 a night paprking fees

The breakfast plates could have been a little warm

always stay here , good location in good condition for a older hotel , double bed was a little small but we have stayed in dulux rooms before we only stayed in april for 5 nights but had a quick night away this time on the way to cornwall , on a hill so be aware if you struggle to walk but a good walk into town and amazing views we love this hotel and torquay

The room was with a balcony overlooking the sea. The furnishings were antique/old , The bed was comfortable The bathroom needed a replacement bath panel as rotting , the old sink had several small chips. Our room cleaners were polite and provided a daily service. We only used the restaurant for an evening meal once , food was adequate, we felt the selection was poor. Breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold choices, the restaurant staff were all very polite and helpful. The outdoor pool was "closed for refurbishment " shame as we were there in the heatwave. Good parking arrangements for blue badge holders with level access to hotel.

The staff were helpful. The reception area is nice. No air con. The room I slept in the curtains were filthy. Dead flies stuck to netting. Couldn't close curtains they were just stuck. Filthy windows never been cleaned. Outside window was disgusting. All smelt of damp. Carpet in the hallway was damp

Lovely hotel full of character, little tired in places but that didn’t affect its charm. Beautiful view from the luxury room. Nice big room and lovely bathroom. Maid service excellent. Breakfast did not disappoint and again with beautiful views over the sea. Would book again. Staff all very polite and helpful.

A nice but dated hotel, in a great location and fantastic views across Torbay.

The stay was very satisfactory

The main hotel is nice, staff very helpful. Comfortable bed. Rooms and bathrooms are dated. There’s shampoo, conditioner and body wash-nothing more. My room (404) was incredibly hot, there’s no AC which surprised me, and i couldnt leave the windows open as area outside my bathroom is where pigeons perched and make a racket.. so I didnt have a good nights sleep. I wouldn’t pay full price for this hotel.

A lovely historic hotel with wonderful grounds and sweeping sea views . We loved our big spacious room with a pleasant balcony. The hotel has a short pleasant hilly walk down to the town.centre.
