Fantastic hotel. Great base for the first few days of our road trip around Eastern Canada. Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms and a great swimming pool. Highly recommended!

les deux restaurants sont très bon et surtout le chop chop avec ses super bons cocktails et steaks

L'hotel est bien situé et offre l'option de deux restaurants dans le même établisement, le stationnement est assez grand et il nous a été possible de laisser notre véhicule et remorque le temps de notre road trip en moto :)

Flew into Toronto for a 5 day stay at the Sandman Oakville.
Positives
- Staff was friendly and helpful
- Two restaurants (Chop Steakhouse & Denny’s)
- Quiet, despite beside the 403 Highway
- Very cold A/C in room and fridge
- Cineplex Movie there, Winners, grocery store, gas, and more food places all within a minute of hotel.
- Cost effective, but you get to see why
Negatives
- Old hotel, front lobby is nice, but rest of the hotel has seen better days. The showers are a bit rundown (rain style shower, cracks in the walls - not a dive but old and not remodelled, the carpet is moist if the A/C is turned off (GTA is humid). fridge is cold but made many drinks in plastic bottles freeze and explode.
- Final day we found two unused towels at the bottom of the sink cabinet and they had either blood or makeup on them. Told front desk, otherwise we didn’t ask for anything, and they just offered to tell hospitality. Not sure if this is something that necessitates a discount, but it was quite off putting and we have decided not to stay here again.
- Was offered an upgrade by email for late check out ($42) at 2pm, but the friendly staff wasn’t aware and I had to ask about it and have it added it on at check-in. Day of checkout we were called by the front desk at 11:30am (regular checkout is 11am) asking when we were going to check out and I had to remind them I paid for late checkout. Felt we were getting pushed out the room or it was not on our account.

Fiquei hospedado por um período longo. Meu primeiro quarto teve um problema de infiltração de água, com queda de alguns pedaços do revestimento de gesso do teto, mas assim que possível me mudaram para outro quarto. A equipe da recepção e manutenção foram muito prestativos. A limpeza dos quartos foi meio deficiente. Os colchões já estavam desgastados e os travesseiros eram péssimos (eram aqueles de flocos de espuma).

I blame myself moreso for not asking to switch rooms, so it’s not all on the hotel, so take my rating as you wish. But our air conditioning was so loud when it switched on that we are got startled awake often, and it didn’t work to cool the air well at all. Yes, we still needed it running as it would’ve been an oven otherwise.
The bed was so soft and no firm pillows. No biggie, but for some it is.
The walls and floors must be thin as well because we could hear everything from our room.
The carpet in our room may have just been cleaned because they felt almost damp and sticky.
The pool area looked like someone with red hair had a haircut in there, the floor had large clumps of hair everywhere.
The staff were great.

It is not 30 mins from downtown Toronto, with traffic, any given day, it is over an hour away. Right on the freeway so that was nice. Clean, very nice hotel. Free parking. Just know that is a long drive to anything touristy!
