Staff was kind and friendly. Room was clean. Hallways were dingy and seemed dirty. Just an overall impression. Waĺlpaper was peeling in places too. Pool passkey lock was broken and the door was held open with a towel, weird. Some attention to accessibility ♿️ would be great. We were comfortable, beds were cozy, houekeeping staff and restaurant staff were wonderful, truly. Our tub wasnt draining properly 😌 so it filled up during showers and became slippery. Its a slipping hazard. Rm 330, if you want to have someone take a look and fix it. The A/C was fantastic 👏. Thank you for a nice stay.

The property was perfect for us on our stay. It was close to the airport, and the St James dueling Piano bar was right across the street. The breakfast at the Gort restaurant was delicious and did not break the bank. The lobby bar was a great place to chill and have a drink while we waited for our friends or our Uber to show up. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Joel was working at the front desk. He was amazing. I mistakenly thought the shuttle was 24 hour to the airport. It apparently only starts at 7am. I told him I actually booked with another hotel, but my brother said that was not a good choice, and therefore I chose the Viscount, partly because of the free shuttle. He gave me a voucher for a taxi and scheduled it for me. He gave me a couple of city bus tickets as I wanted to take a city bus ride to visit my father who lived just a few km down Portage, and I had no Canadian cash. He was amazing. As far as the room goes, it was immaculately clean. The water was clean and didn't take long to fill the tub to have a lovely hot bath. I live in the country so I was a little sensitive to the road traffic noise. I dont think it was loud, but I'm just used to super quiet. The bed however, was an issue. It was very soft. I cannot speak to the amenities as the pool, restaurant breakfast as I never used them.

Hotel was dark and unwelcoming. Staff were friendly, but hotel was horrible. Bottom floor and elevator was good but then when you walked into your floor it was dark, dirty and overall scary. The room was also nothing like the photos. There was damage everywhere, paint peeling, etc. there were stains on the walls, long curly black hairs everywhere. Honestly a nightmare.

Bathroom door hinges were loose and door was hard to close. Closet door was off runner. Staff offered to move us to another room. The problems were fixed but then the bathroom door wouldn’t close. Staff were friendly, room was quiet.

The breakfast at the Gort Restaurant was really good and the atmosphere was nice. The Hotel it self is rundown and in need of TLC and upkeep. Okay place to stay if you want a room with a bed that has a good size TV, and a pool to splash in.

Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, The room was clean and spacious. Did not interact with other staff, or use the bar, restaurants or breakfast kitchen. Mold in the shower. The third floor is hot, humid and reeks of chlorine. The third floor security door is very grimey, entry and exit doors somewhat grimey. The street/traffic noise is loud. Air conditioner was weak.

Room had leak and couldn’t change rooms….manager fixed the next day upgraded us and gave us a free night. Hotel needs and is scheduled for renovation so hopefully will be better in a year!

Corridor to room was filthy - dirty rug. Bathroom door, in-unit, was in horrible condition and looked as if it was just put together. No A/C in corridor to bedroom and very dark and dingy.
