Rooms were recently renovated and they were clean and very nice. The hallways were being patched and painted, which is not a negative as they are simply updating the whole property. Would stay here again as it is conveniently located and very comfortable.

Clean Room, lovely newly refurbished, some areas still undergoing refurb/hallways etc with completed areas done to a great standard.

This would have got a 5 star review had there not been any redecorating going on, leaving corridors dark and smelly. Will be great at the end of it though. Standard room clean and spacious, large tv and immaculate bathroom. The shower was amazing. Ate and drank at the hotel. Food was delicious and drinks reasonably priced. Don’t forget to tell staff if you are staying at the hotel as you’ll get 25% discount on all food. Plenty of parking, free at weekends. Only there one night but a lovely stay. Will use again if in the area particularly if I can get it at the same price - £58 per room for a Saturday is an absolute bargain!

It's obvious the Hotel was undergoing renovations. When we arrived, it wasn't too obvious where the reception was, which was just a desk in the bar area. Our room was on the 1st floor, when coming out of the lift on that floor a room map would have been really useful. We (and another couple who arrived around the same time) were wondering around like lost souls trying to find our allotted room.
The room itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Though there was no evacuation map on the back of the door (though when one stepped into the corridor, the route to safety was obvious). Our sleep was good.
One last observation, when we left our room in the morning. We were loaded with a suitcase and several pieces of luggage. When going through a fire door on the way back to reception. My wife opened the door and held it open for me to follow, only to trip up on a single step down of about 10 cm height. My wife stumbled but didn't fall. A notice on the proceeding fire door would have alerted her to the step. Better signage would have helped.
Having said that, we enjoyed our stay.

The bar and reception areas have been renovated and are nice, a call out to the helpful and friendly bar staff too.
However, the room itself was not acceptable. Both towels and bed sheets had marks on them, as did the carpet. Got in the shower, empty shower gel container. Nowhere in the bathroom to put anything. Both the mugs and glasses were dirty and dusty. The fire alarm in our room activated whilst we were asleep and woke us up in the middle of the night (it wasn’t us! and there wasn’t a fire or emergency).
Although there are still renovations taking place and we had to walk a near 360 to get to the room, the room itself should be cleaned properly at a minimum. The price was cheap through Expedia, but wouldn’t recommend a stay.

room was lovely and modern, unfortunately was a long walk to the room due to renovation works across the entire floor. Location was great, easy to get to the NEC from there with uber. Food was low point, very expensive and honestly the steak looked like a small burger in size and the mushy peas on the fish and chips looked like a snot smear on the bottom of the plate. Ended up eating elsewhere for rest of stay.

Awful stay. First room we were allocated was on the second floor which is not accessible only by stairs. Second room when we were about to go through the door a member of staff ran up to us saying ‘no someone is in there’ so they had given us a room that someone was already staying in. Third room and the one we ended up staying in was old, dated and falling apart. Mould everywhere worst off in the bathroom so we were unable to use the shower the whole stay. Carpet was missing in places. Curtains broken and hanging off. Stains on the bed sheets. Then to top it all off, work men working in the room above us starting at 7.30am with loud power drills.

The building was being renovated, which we didn't know prior to staying. Required to walk through the entire building, up stairs, down stairs, up more stairs to get to our rooms. Food was really nice, great restaurant and all of the staff were helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely meal and the bedroom was very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful.Sadly the bathroom was not up to standard with black mould on the tiles. We didnt feel inclined to use either the shower or the bath.rotton wood beneath the bath.bit noisy as we were above the bar. Needed to leave at 4 in the morning to catch a plane so we didnt get much sleep.xx

Room was fairly clean, entrance under renovation, cobwebs in the corner, staff were fine, not massively helpful, room had peeling wallpaper, could hear through the walls very easily. No WiFi, tv was so slow and only had channels 1-5. It was fine as a pit stop for a night, wouldn’t chose to return.
Oh yeah, and only 1 towel in the room, bed was a small double

We had to ask for another room as the one they gave us was terrible. The new room they gave us was a refurbished, so when they get them all refurbished it will be so much better
