The room was in need of refurbishment. The shower head would not stay upright and there was no plug in the basin. The paint was peeling off the windowsill and the furniture was tatty. However, the bed and pillows were good. The hotel in general needs redecorating. The leisure centre was closed and I did not now about this at the time of booking. This seems to be a party hotel so if you want an early night check what is going on there before you book. I was at an event but couldn't go to bed before 1.00a.m. as the loud music was directly both under and outside of my 1st floor room. When I went to go to my room at about midnight and the key wouldn't work there was no one on reception. It took several tries at calling on the reception phone before anyone answered and came to help. The staff at the event which was an 80s night, were great. 5 stars for them. I bought the same drinks 3 times and was charged a different price each time, only 40p or so but given the till set up I thought this was strange. I didn't have breakfast.

Private Christmas party on at the hotel. Music blasting out until late and after it had finished, had party members making extreme noise in the corridors and rooms either side of me. Vomit in the corridor. WIFI is non-existent in the room I was in, batteries didn't work in the TV. Spoke to the night receptionist who took notes of the above and said someone would contact me later that day but never heard anything which shows a lack of care (he handled the situation very well and was very apologetic). I was kept awake from around 2am

Receptionist was lacking in any happiness to help. We were given lesser spec rooms than we had reserved online. View over rubbish stack out of window. Excessive noise at 1100 night and 400 in morning. My tea coffee sugar jar was half empty. Other than that it was amazingly good.

There was nothing wrong with the room itself but the double doors outside my room didn’t close slowly, instead closing with a loud bang. This was a few feet from my head and I was woke up countless times by people using said double doors. In the morning I was incredibly tired and asked if I could extend my check out time because I so desperately needed sleep. The staff were entirely unsympathetic and disinterested. I was told that it would be £10 per hour to stay. That price is nothing short of disgusting. I paid £44 for the night! I ended up paying for 1 extra hour and cancelling my booking I had there over Christmas (23rd-26th) and have instead opted to stay at the premier in Solihull town centre. I’m seriously disgusted by my stay at the regency hotel. I’ve stayed there before with no issues. But the customer service I received on this occasion was poor at best. Not happy 1/10

When I arrived, I was asked to pay a £10 parking fee because I booked through Expedia. This was not made clear when booking the room. When I went upstairs, I found that my single-bed room had not been hoovered and had plasterboard chips on the bed. I was very disappointed and complained at the front desk. They were friendly and upgraded me at no additional cost to a really lovely spacious double bedroom, that was clean. I had a very enjoyable night because of this, but it was a shame that the experience started so poorly.

Stay of one night in a recently refurbished room . Which had its faults ,noise from corridor and other rooms awful . The 2 nd lock on the door was a security chain not something you see often in hotels . The toilet was packed around quite badly with huge amounts of cracked mastic one of the first things noticed on entering the bathroom . Above the bed were brown leak stains on the ceiling Black mastic tape to carpet across the room and more things . The bed was comfortable with nice linens and tea coffee etc available and a TV . It was a large room with windows to the front of the hotel but it did not provide a perfect nights sleep with the noise factor between rooms . It did not look like a recently refurbished room either with all the things wrong . On a positive note I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to the night Receptionist who was a lovely person ,we got talking whilst I was waiting for my taxi had I known he was there I could have passed the night with him chatting rather than listen to room noises . He is an asset to your hotel and I hope you realise his potential .

Others reported to me the same and bugs in the bed. Food was good at the hotel but i do believe that the old rooms shouldnt be available for stay.

The receptionist was fab, but the hotel!!! What mess. The first room is was tiny, dirty, no phone. The suite was DISGUSTING! STUNK like hospital food, i refused to get in the bed & left. Fire alarm kept going off. Why is there no phone to contact reception? Why was the bath & the bed dirty? Im fuming, i left at 1am after trying my hardest to calm my nerves from the2 fire alarms. Would love a re fund to be honest because it was truly a waste of money!!!!

A 3 1/2 * review. Staff helpful , only one bath towel for a room booked for two but was rectified very quickly, but corrupted key card so a trek back to reception . Same happened following day ! Was in a refurbished room which was fine if lacking lighting levels, bathroom absolutely no where to hang towels or put toiletries and door bangs into sink which "had" a rubber bung on the face of it !! Restaurant not one I would visit again , small portions and basic . Served wine with 'a head on' but accepted that there was something wrong and replaced it without question . Wife, whose on a diet, only wanted a single scoop of ice cream for which we were charged £6.50 ! Although building works don't start until 9 am could hear builders dragging materials around on the floor above us for early on , and on the stroke of 9 am power tools started up ! Handy for NEC . Charge £10 per night car parking which is a bit of a con !
