Old but the room is clean. There was some trouble when checking in, due to a system failure either of Hotels.com or the hotel itself. Fortunately, the receptionist was very patient, and helped us check in despite all the difficulties.

Hotel is very run down and in urgent need of an upgrade. Very disappointed overall, particularly as have stayed at other Leonardo hotels and they were great (hence why we booked this one). All staff were very friendly and helpful and it’s a shame that they have to work in an environment that is so run down. Upon complaining about general state of facilities we did receive a 50% refund, so big thanks to the manager for his understanding. The Leonardo chain should be ashamed that one of its hotels is in such a bad state.

Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Staff couldn't be more helpful and evening meal was very nice. Room was very comfortable, just needing a wee lick of paint!

Room was “tired”, missing a full length mirror, cramped bathroom with lukewarm shower. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of hot and cold items. Coffee was from a machine and the latte was very strong. Plenty of car parking available for a small charge. We only stayed one night and didn’t eat in the restaurant, so can’t comment on that. Staff were friendly.

Very helpful friendly staff. Excellent service in bar/ restaurant and at breakfast. Good choice and price for breakfast. Easy parking and nice scenic walk around the pond.

On arrival staff at reception were amazing so helpful. Walked into room carpet had an iron burn, the sink in bathroom was slow to drain. The lights on the unit with the tv one was not working and swivelling round.. the socket under the unit was broken and not looking good. The unit had a strip of laminate ripped of the unit. Could hear people talking in next door room. Breakfasts were ok, our first morning the fried eggs were like rubber, sausages over cooked and not appetising to look at or eat.. Our second breakfast we had poached eggs they were lovely and sausages were better but mushrooms were all wrinkled and dry!! Had dinner it was lovely steak & chips very nice, well cooked steak. Staff amazing, so chatty and in hand at all times. Bed was comfortable but pillows were poor quality. Said the bed was a king koil but when I looked at the mattress it was not that make!! Hair dryer was hot to hold after a few minutes. So if it wasn’t that my daughter was staying here as she was giving stem cells at the beatson hospital for her brother my son and they booked it for her I would never have stayed here but I wanted to be in the next room in case she needed me. Disappointed with the hotel. Staff I can’t say enough about them, you should be very proud of them but as for your hotel you need to do a much better job and bring it into the 21st century Not acceptable at all.

Room clean, warm & comfortable. We have stayed many times before & is no frills, but works well for us for a short stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pretty basic and shower was awkward to turn on and off. Shower head could have done with a clean . Tv reception wasn’t brilliant . Bed was ok but linen seemed bit small for bed. Breakfast and food were good. Location is good . Could possibly do with bit of TLC. I would go back .

Staff were very helpful and keen to serve us. The two guys who looked after us went above and beyond. When I asked about leaving a gratuity on the card payment they advised it will take some time for them to see any of it. Is that correct?

Rooms were great. Great outlook! Staff were friendly and courteous and professional. Would recommend to anyone!

The room is in desperate need of a refurb and appeared grubby and tired. The sheet was stained and had a hair on it!

All the staff were fantastic, really easy to speak to. The hotel was really close to the train station

I think one star is too much. When you first walk in the reception smelt like sewage. Then you go to the hotel room and find hole in lamp shade a horrible stain on the wall. Then you sleep the night and it's the worse mattress ever you feel the springs and everything I'm 27 years old I never had my bad hurt in that mattress. I never had to cut my holiday short before but I had to leave the night before on Sunday night and do the 5hr drive instead of doing 1 more night. I would like my 1 night refund.

The room was in decent condition and clean but a little dated. The staff in reception were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast started at 8 because it was a Saturday and we went down around 8:20am and there was hardly any food left. I had to ask when there would be more food put out. The staff were friendly when I asked but didn’t look very approachable. I have stayed here before and not had this experience so I’m hoping it was a one off.

Room was clean but curtain was coming off rail. It held together during my stay. Bathroom a bit cramped. Provisions in room were good. Good to have bar and restaurant in house. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. I phoned to extend my stay but got through to an admin centre which was much less helpful. In fact it was obstructive and no use at all. Happy to stay there again, easy to reach, comfortable and friendly inhouse.
