Filled with tight corners and limited overtaking opportunities, Singapore’s Formula One track is known to be one of the most challenging and unique tracks on the Grand Prix calendar. Taking place annually on the streets of Marina Bay, it’s one of the most physically demanding tracks for drivers and nothing short of exciting.

It made history with the sport’s first-ever night race held against the stunning and vibrant cityscape of Singapore back in 2008. Beyond the race, the buzz of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix lights up the entire city. Combining motorsport with live entertainment, concerts, and celebrations throughout the Singapore F1 weekend.

When is the Singapore Grand Prix?

The Singapore Grand Prix in 2025 is scheduled for the weekend of 3-5 October, with the main Grand Prix race taking place on Sunday. Friday is a practice day, and Saturday is the qualifier.

And in true tradition, the main Formula 1 race will set to begin in the evening on Sunday.

The Singapore F1 Grand Prix occurs annually in October, and has been held every year since 2008 (excluding 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

Where is it?

The Singapore Grand Prix takes place at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, which is located in the heart of downtown Singapore. It’s a temporary street circuit, which means ordinary streets of Singapore are closed and converted into a racetrack for the weekend.

What to see and do at the Singapore Grand Prix

The Singapore Grand Prix is so much more than just a race. Beyond the high-speed thrills, it’s a multi-day event that runs throughout the city. Here is a snapshot of what you can see and do during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend in 2025:

Post-Race Concerts: Trust us when we say, the post-race concerts are not to be missed. This year’s line-up is huge — with performances from G-DRAGON, Foo Fighters, Elton John, Lewis Capaldi, Alan Walker, Crowded House, and more.
Visit the official F1 Fanzone: From F1 SimRacing and the Pit Stop Challenge, to helmet, showcar and trophy displays – all 20 F1 drivers will also take to the stage for live Q&A sessions across the race weekend, too.
Fireworks Display: Watch the sky light up after the highly anticipated Grand Prix race.
Scuderia Ferrari HP Show Car Display: An exemplar of Italian engineering excellence, the Scuderia Ferrari HP showcar takes pride of place at Marina Bay Sands’ hotel lobby.
#RevUPSG Pre-F1 Events: From watch parties to pop-up festivals, #RevUpSG events will be ramping up as we near the official Singapore Grand Prix weekend.
Walk The Tracks: Ticket holders in Zones 1 and 2 can walk the track 20 minutes after the final event of each day.
Singapore Flyer: Ticket holders for Zones 1 and 2 can enjoy a complimentary ride on the Singapore Flyer from 2pm to 11pm — you’ll get the best view of the city as well as the racetrack.

Where to stay near Singapore Grand Prix

As the Singapore Grand Prix race and festivities all occur within downtown Singapore, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to finding a place to stay. Marina Bay Sands is a luxurious pick that sits directly on the race circuit, while The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore hotel is also a great pick for panoramic Marina Bay and race views. The Mandarin Oriental Singapore is a popular choice for a refined, riverside stay with easy walking access to the track, too.

Tips for getting the most out of the Singapore Grand Prix

Buy your tickets early: Get your tickets well in advance. Generally, 4-6 months is your safest bet. Popular zones and grandstands sell out fast, along with special packages or multi-day passes.
Explore festivities before the race: As mentioned, the entire city lights up before the Singapore Grand Prix, so arrive a few days early to join in on any pre-F1 events (or just to explore the city, too).
Choose your zone wisely: Zone 1 has the best track views, while Zone 4 is popular for concerts and fan zones. Choose the correct zone for what you’re looking for.
Stay close to the track: With so many top-tier hotels in the city, find one close to the track so you’ll be within walking distance to all the action.
Wear comfortable clothes (and shoes): The Singapore Grand Prix is a multi-day event, and chances are, you’ll be doing a fair bit of walking around and exploring. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, and prepare for that classic Singapore heat.
Prepare for rain: Singapore is tropical and rain showers down here. Pack a light rain jacket and something to protect your phone in case the weather turns quickly.
