Bodø Airport is a key hub for regional flights across Northern Norway and the closest airport to the Lofoten Islands. Compare airlines flying in and out of Bodø (BOO) and set a Price Alert on Traveloka to catch a good fare before you book.
Bodø Airport handled around 2 million passengers in 2025. It's a joint civil-military airfield, shared with a Norwegian Air Force base, and sits right by the city centre. A brand-new Bodø Airport is currently under construction about 900 m south of the current site, due to open around 2029-2030 with capacity for 2.3 million passengers a year — the current airport will keep operating until the new one is ready.
Bodø is Northern Norway's key regional connecting point, with Widerøe flying an extensive network of short-hop routes to smaller Norwegian towns including Svolvær, Leknes, Røst and Stokmarknes in Lofoten, plus Tromsø, Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger and more than ten daily return flights to Oslo. There are also seasonal international routes, including to Munich and Helsinki, plus occasional Mediterranean charter flights. See Traveloka's flight-route pages for specific city pairs and set a Price Alert to track fares as schedules change.
Widerøe operates its main base here and runs the bulk of the network, with SAS and Norwegian also serving the airport on domestic and seasonal routes.
The single terminal is compact and easy to navigate, with the usual basics — check-in, security, a small retail and dining offer and free Wi-Fi.
The airport is close to central Bodø, with local buses and taxis readily available outside the terminal. Verify current routes and fares before you travel.
Facilities are practical rather than extensive: cafes, a small shop, luggage storage, car rental desks and free Wi-Fi — in keeping with its role as a regional gateway rather than a major international hub.
