No one wants to throw away good money for no reason, and your holiday to Hawaii should be no different. If you’re flexible with the dates for your trip, you could save a considerable amount of cash. Try visiting Honolulu in shoulder season months such as April, May, September and October, which are often the cheapest times to fly. On the flip side, try to avoid July and August as well as November and December which typically tend to be popular times to visit and correspondingly, more expensive.
If you’re an Australian and your trip to Honolulu and the United States is for less than 90 days, you won’t necessarily need a visa. However, you will need to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) if they are eligible so you can enter the country under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). If you’re ineligible for this, you will need a visa. Both the visa or visa waiver applications need to be sorted before departing Australia.
