About Manila flights

Flights to Manila

Flights to Manila get you to a capital city that doesn’t break the bank. The Philippines delivers big on experience, and Manila’s the best place to start. Eat your way through night markets, dive into local culture, and explore the city’s mix of Spanish influence and modern edge. It’s got energy, colour, and chaos in all the right ways. Plus, it’s a hub for domestic flights to the islands, so it’s easy to keep moving. With direct flights from across Australia, Manila’s never been more within reach.

Where is the airport in Manila?

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is in Pasay, around 7 kms from central Manila. There are a few ways to get there, depending on your budget, luggage, and time:

  • Grab: Book a ride through the app and pay a fixed fare.
  • Taxi: Yellow taxis cost more but are reliable. White taxis are cheaper, but always use the meter.
  • UBE Express: Point-to-point airport shuttle that runs between major city stops.
  • Buses and jeepneys: Cheap options but not ideal with large luggage.
  • Airport transfer: Best for groups or travellers with bags who want peace of mind.

When is the cheapest time to fly to Manila

Fly to Manila between May and early October for the best prices. It’s the low season, with fewer crowds and decent weather if you don’t mind the odd shower. December to April is peak time, especially around Christmas and Holy Week in March or April. That’s when flights are most expensive and harder to lock in. If you’re flexible, steer clear of those busy periods to save big.

Visa/Passport requirements when flying to Manila

No visa is needed for stays up to 30 days. Your passport must be valid for six months from arrival, and you’ll need return or onward tickets. You must also register via the eTravel portal before your flight and complete a short health declaration to get your QR code.

How early to arrive at the airport

Arrive at your departure airport three hours before your flight to Manila. That gives you time to check in, clear security, and grab a bite before boarding.
