We did have a pleasant day. The room is a bit outdated back in the 70s and unfortunately as well they don’t have really any disabled access rooms which is not ideal. I did ask him before arrival but I needed somewhere so I could have a shower put the room I had didn’t have a shower that I could get into and they did try to move it but unfortunately that room was also the same situation . However, we had a brilliant night sleep and the breakfast was really nice as well. There’s nothing to write home about but it’s a nice place and will return

We had a three night stay to see the Blackpool Illuminations and it couldn't be better. A lovely old world hotel, beautiful public rooms and spacious bedroom and en=suite bathroom. The restaurant offers attractive well presented meals while the bar has smaller plates. Thoroughly recommend

Staff very welcoming, foyer area lovely, very festive. Rooms less so - cobwebs from light shade to ceiling, torn net curtains, carpets a bit stained. Overall looking a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. On the plus side, the room was warm, with plenty of hot water and the bed linen very clean and fresh. The breakfast was OK. I think I would struggle to describe this as a four star hotel but that said, it was good value for what we paid - not 4 star prices!

Lovely old hotel and delicious food but our room on the second floor was very cold. It took absolute hours to warm up and needed a good clean, including the carpet. The Derby dining room was also cold as the heater wasn't on...in mid December! £9 for two cups of tea in a dirty mug. Literally 2 cups of tea, we got 2 pots...one filled with tea and one filled with milk??? The food was the highlight of our stay. They must have an outstanding chef! Overall, a bit more attention to detail would have made our stay far more enjoyable.
