The Tower Hotel, by Thistle

I usually love to give five star reviews, so this is hard to review. If it wasn’t for the location, the restaurant, and a few members of staff, I would’ve probably given it a one star. When we got there and got into our room, it was freezing. We called down and they said there’s nothing they can do because no one in the rooms can control the thermostat. They brought in heaters for us and blankets. I just thought that with paying this much money for the hotel I would be able to be comfortable at least. The man checking me in was not the kindest person and wouldn’t let our party be on the same floor. I booked two rooms and emailed beforehand that I would like them, at least on the same floor. The location of the hotel is amazing. You walk out and you can see the Tower bridge of London. It is such a beautiful site. The restaurant that is connected to the hotel is very very good. We did not eat breakfast because it was $25 a day per person. For me that was way too expensive. To wrap it up, the location is amazing, but the hotel itself is very old, although they do try and keep it nice. One last thing I should note whenever my husband would go in through the lobby. He always commented that there was a very weird smell. He said it was hard to walk through the lobby at times because the smell was so bad.

Staff were very friendly, everywhere felt very clean and well presented. Breakfast was very good.

Great hotel, our second trip staying here. However, the room this trip did not have a mini fridge and is clearly in need of some repairs.

Hotel is in a great location, lobby is really smart and everything clean enough. Only issue is the room is very dated nowadays. Bathroom very tired also. Needs updating.

Friendly check in staff, rooms were very clean with a great view of St Katherine’s Dock. Breakfast was great, also on-site parking was reasonably priced.

The staff is friendly, the location is awesome but the rooms are old, dirty and dated. The family room was also small.

Location is great and view was amazing ! Staff are very accommodating! The room is fine, sink not draining well and tap was also difficult to twist to turn the water off. The restaurant dining is great! The breakfast was nice. Overall we had a great stay!

Lifts were running even when the fire alarm was ringing Bathroom leaked into the unit below Sink was not draining well Could hear other people talking loudly Staff came in without knocking or ringing bell and said wanted to change the safe i thought that was quiet scary because i was all alone and had just gotten out of shower i had to close the door with my hand when i saw it getting opened and happened 30 mins after i checked in ..

The view was perfect, but everything else felt very old and dusty. The fire alarm went off twice, which caused a lot of inconvenience with people coming in and out

My room has dead lights every where. There was no heating working. They added a water heating device. I was double charged for my meal. A burger cost $60 Canadian! I asked for a wake up call the 3 days I stayed there and received no call after I confirmed the night before. Overall a horrible experience but great view. 😂

Hotel was in an excellent location and the tower view was exceptional. Concierge were very helpful, check in was quick and easy. The room was spacious but I was disappointed to find no fridge. To me this is a very basic amenity but found out you need to upgrade your room to have the “luxury” of a fridge. There was the space for a fridge in the room but it was locked. When travelling with a young child not having a fridge was an inconvenience.

The alarm system has many issues, and the evacuation plan must be improve in winter time.
