Beautiful views from the rooms! Rooms feel plenty spacious and well laid out for the size. Hotel receptionists, concierge, and house cleaning staff were great. We stayed 10 day and the location was perfect to commute to other London areas. We walked, used the Tube, and buses.

The room was beautiful, excellent view, spotless - overall couldn’t fault it at all. The staff we encountered were all very friendly, especially the lady who greeted us on arrival and showed us the electronic check-in option (sorry, can’t remember her name). I work in 5-star hospitality, and that was the feeling I got from this hotel!

While our 2nd night was much better, the night we checked in was a disaster to say the least. We waited well over an hour for the staff to fix our room. The room they checked us into which they claimed was the only room available had a number of issues. While it did have an amazing view of the Tower Bridge, that was the only acceptable feature. The room had no electricity and the bed was in the floor! They promised me a refund of the first night charges which was never provided. They attempted to make up by giving us complementary drinks at the bar on the night of arrival, only to be told that we could not be served because they were closing. Then they did provide a credit for dinner in the restaurant the 2nd night and a very nice room that 2nd night. I am astonished on the room the 1st night and the false promise of refund of a nights reservation. What a shame for an otherwise nice establishment with an amazing location. Maybe the issue was that I booked through Expedia, that cannot be proven, but no one should be put in a room without electricity and a bed on the floor!! Unacceptable!

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. I have to give a special shout-out to the staff—the Concierge, Reception, and the team at VU Restaurant were absolutely amazing and made us feel welcome. The room itself was very cozy, and the view was hands down one of the best we have ever had. The only downside was the housekeeping service; unfortunately, even after the room was serviced, we found dust in several places. However, the positives definitely outweighed this issue. I would recommend booking this hotel for the service and the views alone.

The room was fine, it was a building site on the floor though with very poor wayfinding, not helpful when I am slightly impaired at the moment recovering from a broken ankle. The room phone didnt work. The concierge and reception staff were great, however I had to keep getting lift downstairs to order room service. There were no data ports to plug in chargers for phones. The TV was a little intermittent. The food and wine in the restaurant - one glass of wine was more expensive than getting a bottle from a local supermarket. Overall, whilst I liked the hotel and the staff, underwhelmed by the overall experience particularly as I think it was affected by the construction works happening on various floor plates

Check in was easy using the kiosk and our family room was lovely and spacious however there is a severe shortage of sockets within the room. It’s been a long time since I stayed in a hotel anywhere where I couldn’t charge my phone beside the bed! The weekend we stayed was cold and wintery -1 and we found 3 oil filled radiators in our room upon our arrival which was fine as we definitely needed the extra heat, however the lack of electrical sockets meant that we couldn’t use the fridge and heater at the same time. This is pretty poor! Other than that the staff were lovely and friendly, the hotel is in a great location with a Starbucks in the lobby and a Tesco express next door. A short 8minute walk will get you on to the London Underground so all in all, a great location.

Check-in took awhile even when I checked in online and have QR code ready. The hotel tried to have you used self check-in with QR code. But, when the system scanned it and the screen show room isn’t ready. It’s very unorganized and the room is old with carpet flooring except the bathroom. My room came with a small portable heater where it only warmed up a small part of the room. There’s no main heating unit for the entire room. The time I was there United Kingdom low at night was around -2c. The bathroom isn’t well ventilated so I could see where mold build comes from. If you read from other guests reviews stating there is mold in the ceilings bathroom. Location is great for Tower Bridge view. Some may like the old traditional style room and some may not. I highly recommend hotel to be renovated for the long term.
