We came to the city for my daughters 11th birthday, The hotel itself was perfect location for us (walkable to lots) - the rooms were clean, the check in was seamless, and we were able to store our bags while walking around the city (before check in and after check out) which was awesome. But what really made it special was the attendant who checked us in (her name was Dominique) was an absolute gem, made my daughter a little birthday present, She gave us a suggestion of seeing the Statue of Liberty at sunset (which we took her advice and it was incredible). My daughter wouldn't stop talking about how sweet she thought this woman was - she said "I think that's the nicest lady in New York"
It really means a lot to me she made my daughters birthday extra special, we wanted to find her to tell her thank you as we were checking out but couldn't find her, so girl if you see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I was very happy with my stay at the Doubletree. Great location. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The housekeeping staff did a great job every day with cleaning the room. Will definitely be back.

Very convenient location - subway station at the end of the block; close enough to Times Square that you can go and check things out but far enough away that you’re away from the swaths of people! Great coffee shop next door! The staff were wonderful; always willing to answer questions or solve problems! We had our ac unit quit in our room and I went to the front desk to inquire about it - within half an hour it was up and running again! The only downside was how long the wait for the elevators were - not a big deal to just take the stairs except when we had all of our luggage with us. This wasn’t an all day issue but definitely around check in/out times.

If you show up 15 minutes before check in, don’t tell some one their room is clean but not ready then make then have a seat in the lobby only to get back in the end of a very long line when the room is ready.

As a loyal Hilton Honors member, I expected the Double Tree to be on par with other facilities like it I have visited. It was not. The lobby was small and always overcrowded, the elevators and rooms were tiny, and when we went to our room the first time, it was 90 degrees in the room. So I went all the way downstairs to get a new room, and the clerk said they had no more rooms and I would have to deal with it if they could not fix it - they would put a fan in there. When we got back from dinner, I asked again, and we were moved to another room that miraculously appeared. After spending almost $2000 on a room, I should not have to be treated like that.

Got to the hotel 15 minutes before check in , we were told our room was clean but not ready . By 3 pm the crowd came in which left us no choice to get back in a very long line and unable to check in for another hour. There’s git to be a better way. How about give people a number and call it in order Ike a bakery does. Hotel breakfast service has a low level of awareness. Assuming everyone is there for the buffet is not ok. We were charged for 3 meals when we only had 2. A teenager was with us but chose to eat at McDonald’s .

Front desk and concierge were nice and professional. The elevators take a very long time. The bathroom is not good at all in the room. The pipe under the sink faucet was leaking quite a bit. Shower sprays out side on the floor. Hot water in the shower makes the pipes rattle creating lots of noise outside of the bathroom. And very minimal light in the bathroom, I had to put the floor lamp inside the bathroom to get more light. Location was not the best, be cafeful walking at night.

No housekeeping for 2 days, but day of check out they are knocking on our door at 10:00 am
Had to ask for towels at 11:45 pm and finally got what I requested almost an hour later.
Elevator use is horrible. Takes forever to go from room to lobby because they are so full and slow.
Check in-room not ready at 3:00. Which we could have understood if staff was up front with us the two times we stopped in prior to 3:00.
Bedding- main cover between two sheets was dirty and stained.
