DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square West

Very nice

We booked a standard room and it was very small and window had no view. We asked for a better room but they didn't agree at the beginning but then said let see what we can do tomorrow. The next day the moved us to another room which had a better view with better furniture arrangements so it felt bigger.so we agreed to move to this room. In the evening when we came back from sightseeing I went to take a shower and found that the shower door screws were loose and the door could fall. I was too afraid to open the shower door and as it was late I called them next morning to send someone to fix it. It took three phone calls for the reception to send me one. The other thing was the washing basin drainage was blocked. And when I asked the maintenance guy to fix it he said I have to call the reception to be put an order throu! The bottom line is that the bathroom was in a very bad condition and I had to call so many times to have things fixed. The only thing I liked in this hotel was the location and the rooftop lounge.

Good location, extraordinary guest attention and the cleaning of each area.

Staff was very helpful and approachable. A number of furniture and bathroom rails had been damaged, wallpaper was ripped etc.

No hot water to take a shower on a very hot day. Very convenient!

Where to start… fist I had a reservation of a room for a night but my flight got delayed and I ended up getting there at 6am, before this I had sent a message to the hotel through Expedia, called and let them know I was checking in at 6am and confirmed through the honors app the reservation. All of this didn’t matter because they cancelled the reservation without letting me know and I arrived to the hotel to greet Cole for him to tell me that I’d have to wait until 8am for a manager to get there because he didn’t know how to reinstate the reservation… insane…

I liked the area felt safe, the room was quiet and clean. The staff were nice.

My stay was great, very friendly and clean but the space is very small. The room with double beds that was full size for 4 people wasn’t big enough. Nowhere to put luggage, we were in each other’s way. The time we spent there was great.

I think the Hilton did better than other properties nearby, like the Sheraton, but compared to other Hilton properties in other states not quite up to standard. We paid a lot more than the usual Hilton rate for less than we expected. The cookie upon welcome was a nice touch, but the cheap bottle of water with “this is your only water if you want more you have to buy” did really not align withHilton’s usual feel of exclusivity. It immediately made me feel like I’m staying in a cheap (very cheap) hotel. Other Hiltons would give Fiji water and have the fridge stocked with more (without mention that “this is your only water” even though it comes at a cost per bottle, that was nicer.) No bar fridge or microwave in the room. My parents room’s bathroom door was broken, huge negative for them (below standard for Hilton). Not enough towels, but more was provided on request which was good. Rooms extremely small, literally bumping into cupboard door or table while trying to get into bed (and I’m normal BMI). The view was very nice for 2 out of our 3 rooms. The rooftop was amazing and possibly one of my best experiences in NY. I would stay in the Hilton again but it’s really not up to par with other Hilton’s. Small changes can make a huge difference. It seems like Hilton was cutting costs on this property.

The hotel is very clean and the staff there is nice respectful and understanding . Would book again .

Great unbeatable location, spacious, amenities at hotel and rooms very confortable, great quality of products inside the rooms, and great customer service.

The front desk person was not very friendly. He did not offer us water or cookies when others were offered. The water in the room was whitish in color and not safe for consumption. The cleaning person was very good.

Several inconveniences. Had to move rooms because of a/c issues. A lot of time spent on elevator- waiting for it. And I chose this one partly because it had a terrace but it’s only for the bar.
