Mercure Canberra

Really enjoyed our stay. Reception staff could not have been more helpful. Town Centre is within walking distance.

Overall good experience. Staff were friendly, clean room and walkable to many places.

Slightly outdated rooms/facility. Breakfast was below average.

The property was a rare gem, especially the rooms with lofts! The kids thoroughly enjoyed their experience, and the stay was truly memorable.

Lovely room, comfortable bed and huge shower. All good. Easy parking out front. Good location. Bistro a bit noisy & long queue to order. But food & wine were very good!

Bath towels are not provided in accordance with the number of the guests. No bin lining provided. No slippers provided. Fare alarm went off at 7am.

It’s a great old federation style building with period furnishing. However, it is quite tired and would greatly benefit from refurbishment.

The bed was rock hard. Their was dirty tissues under the bed. The soap in the shower was empty. The room nextdoor had a dog that barked throughout the night. The room has musty smell. The food from the restrant was excellent.

For its age it’s in good condition, parking is a little costly, breakfast buffet was reasonable. Good location

It was clean, within walking distance to the War memorial, Canberra City, bus stops, Memorial Drive. It was peaceful and the courtyards and gardens were tranquil and relaxing.

Very historic building. Rooms a little tired but bathrooms have been nicely refurbished. Has a pub onsite with good meals. The single beds seem very narrow and for some reason the bed was made with the quilt folded in half which meant it barely covered the bed. Didn't realise til the morning however. Great location near the War Memorial.

Well below average for a Mecure Hotel. Stayed in a single queen room, had snot up the side of the bedside table in my room, felt very dungeon like in the room as well (Bathroom was the nicest part). Horrible pillows. Could hear above or next to me go the toilet clear as day (both ways), and their TV the same. It was disgusting to be honest. There is a extra $28 a night charge to park a car outside in a open car park (which you need as it isnt very close to much, decent walk). The floor boards creaked so much with anyone walking above and in the hallway. You were awake when the earliest person near you was up and at it (floors and toolets). I stayed at the Deco Hotel in ACT the week before for work. For the same price (undercover secure parking was free), its like brand new facilities and their attached restaurant had better food and cheaper. Deco was quiet even though it is on a main road, easy 5 min walk to Lonsdale Street and ths city. I've had to stay another night in Canberra, but I checked out of the Mecure this morning and going back to the Deco for my last night this afternoon. I never complained to the hotel, however, will never stay at Mecure ACT again I felt that grossed out and tired after staying there.

Old but comfortable property

The staff was very friendly. The property was in a good location and was in good shape. The room was big with a patio.

Great location. Friendly staff. Comfortable, well appointed room. The building & grounds have potential to be wonderful. They are slowly getting there, but more decorating with potted plants, umbrellas in the courtyard and softened lounging areas would be great additions. Bistro food was great & very handy on site.

Could not get tv to work but not a deal breaker

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, the room is big and comfortable and the breakfast is great. Was a bit surprised at the price of parking $28 per night when all previous times it had been free.
