DoubleTree by Hilton London Excel

Beautiful location on the River, very convenient for the Excel.

I accidently booked the wrong Doubletree and 10 mins later asked to change hotels to another place near the same brand in a different area of London. I expected a great service under the Hilton brand but only found out they are all individually ran as franchises, so DO NOT expect the squality. There were hairs in the scrambled eggs and hairs in the fried eggs. The machine coffee was Luke warm,....not a great experience and I will not be choosing doubletree or the entire Hilton brand again because of this experience. For the sake of 1 nights stay they were unwilling to be reasonable about and change details they have lost a long standing customer

Hotel is fine. Bed was comfortable and staff were delightful. The hotel itself was rather average and the facilities were suitable but not amazing. I would stay here again but I also note that there were lots of hotels at this price point, so worth looking at others too as nothing really stands out about this hotel.

During our stay, after the first night of our 3 night stay the room was run down, not very clean and we were not happy with the location of the room in the building. The next day there was construction in the lobby and the sound resonated up the stairwell to our room. When we went down for lunch we couldn’t stay in the restaurant because of the unbearable noise of a jackhammer . When we went to the front desk, they handed us a card to contact complaints. That was unhelpful, as we could barely hear the concierge. The jack hammer was breaking up tiles floor at the entrance to the restaurant and the Lobby area. It was extremely dangerous as my husband is a safety inspector and pointed it out to the desk. They initially seemed unwilling to do anything. Until my husband pointed out that the decibels were well beyond what staff and patrons can safely be exposed to. After much deliberation, they offered to refund us the rest of our stay. We did not ever receive that refund as it was through Expedia. They assured us we would get it regardless and would refund my credi card on file. I have yet to receive it and it has been 2 weeks.

Offered prosecco on arrival.vut not told was complementary so declined. Two female staff members were much more for sky and helpful than male staff members Room was noisy and shook when other guests slammed doors There was an alter arion with loud shouting in the night Remote often stuck and couldn't access channel to check room service Could not control temperature Lighting was poor could not have bedside lights on without corridor light on Would not stay again

Hotel was easy to find with parking facilities. Great welcome by Irene when we arrived at front desk. Hotel was clean. Good breakfast and comfy bed. Would stay again

All good for a one night stay. Shower was not powerful and bed is a little creeky.

Great value for money staying you can get a rate of under £150 including breakfast. Well worth the extra time it takes to get there from the city.
