Was really concerned given reviews but we found this hotel to be excellent. Friendly reception, quiet room at rear on 3rd floor. The bijou lift worked! Spotless room and en suite. No hairs no bugs adjustable heating, opening windows, comfy beds great sleep. Yes its old but you cant stay in a Victorian building and expect hermetically sealed Barrett home with Ikea furniture! Maybe rooms vary but would stay again and a great location.

This hotel has serious issues but I LOVED it and I will tell you why. I would call it "shabby chic". Things are a little stained here and there. I call that character. The first room they gave me didn't have a bathtub, just a shower. And, there was only ONE unfitted sheet on the bed. I asked about it (because I saw a bathtub in the advertisement) and they gave me another room with a bathtub, but the shower didn't work (which was fine for me). Then, I realized the door lock didn't work and I asked for that to be fixed and they gave me yet another room that was really an upgrade! Nicer by far than any other room I saw. Customer service here is exceptional. They may not always understand English but they are really kind heart people who clearly want to make people happy with their stay. There is ONE outlet in the rooms and it is nowhere near the bed. If you are like me, and you like to work on your laptop from bed, this could be a problem (and it was for me). Bring an extension cord. The walls are thin. I made a racket until my poor sleep deprived neighbor tapped on my door at midnight and asked me to keep it down. The next night, I heard some people debating which restaurant to go to like they were in the same room as me. PRO TIP: If you want the elevator to work, you need to hold the doors closed. If you are afraid of small spaces, note that the elevator is the size of a shoe box. I give this place a solid 5 stars because it was so f-ed up that it is actually awesome.

The hotel was not very well taken care of. It was freezing cold in our room at night and when we asked they provided a heater that barely did anything to heat up the room. The staff were very friendly but the room was dirty, the bathroom was dirty and the shower was difficult to use. The whole room needed a deep clean and some maintenance. There was a TV but it didn’t do anything. We had one pillow each that was super flat and uncomfortable. The location is great, a nice area but not a very comfortable stay.

I enjoyed my stay a lot. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, they treat you like family. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, just what I needed after a long day of travelling followed by an event. The actual building in it's self is beautiful and is well located. I travelled solo and as a young female it can be very difficult to find good hotels that don't take advantage. I felt very safe and comfortable during my stay which is highly valuable. The only downsides was general upkeep of the building and some very slight cleanliness issues in the bathroom. The room was quite warm and I couldn't turn the radiator off. But these are only very basic issues and had little to no effect on the quality of my stay. Definitely good value for money. I would stay again and can highly recommend for people who need a safe and comfortable place to stay for a night.

Good location in a nice area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was satisfactory for a short stay and had the amenities we needed. The tv remote didn’t work, it was replaced by the time we’d got back. It’s a very old beautiful building but tired now I’m afraid. No facilities for food at all. Apparently everything changed after Covid

Night 1 we found a mice. We changed rooms and found some bugs in the bathroom. Some humidity bug idk the name of. The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars out of 5 is because the staff on site was A+. So very helpful and understanding. I still would not recommend. With what I know now, I would have choosen a hotel futher away from London Central for the same price but better quality. All my complaints go to the owner. It's time to invest in your property. This whole place is unsanitary. But again, thank you to the staff.

The whole experience was awful. If i could give minus stars i would. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Hotel was tired, dirty, smelt badly and the window wouldnt shut in one of the bedrooms. My colleagues refused to stay the night and sort alternative accommodation instead of staying.

This was the most disgusting room I have ever stayed in. If I could have canceled, I would have. The hotel is a fire trap. The lady at the front desk is very nice and allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel while we explored London. We came back to an absolutely frigid room with a non-functioning radiator. After an intense argument with the man at the front desk, we finally got an electric radiator, which did not do much to heat the room. He was much more interested in watching his soccer game. I had to insist that he carry the electric radiator to our room. In the morning light, we could see that our sheets and mattresses were absolutely filthy. The baseboards were covered in dust. Dirty windowsills. Molded light fixtures in the bathroom. The shower was disgustingly dirty. The grossest thing where the sheets on my bed. Someone had either vomited or crapped in the sheets and they had not been washed.@ Expedia, I would take this place off of your list. The photos speak for themselves.

Room very outdated and dirty, the central heating was on high and could not be adjusted in the room, two windows open and 2 fans required to cool the room down which took several hours, in November. Reception staff were helpful with providing a fan. Toilet seat broken, wardrobe hanging on by a thread, too scared to use the shower. Only one power outlet, kettle provided but had to be used on the floor. Evidence of previous guests left on the floor and smeared on the radiator. Rat traps in the hallway and we left with flea bites.
