Suncliff Hotel - OCEANA COLLECTION

Location close to the beach was ideal. Facilities including swimming pool was good.

Complimentary room upgrade which was nice. Toilet made a dripping noise after it was flushed. Shower not very powerful (or maybe I was doing something wrong?) Can’t go wrong with the Suncliff overall. Have been coming here for years and will continue to do so

Nice hotel for lovely sea views, staff very helpful and friendly, unfortunately mattress very uncomfortable, but room was great with a lovely shower

Food was tasty, staff was amazing and helpful, room was clean. Property could use some updating.

Hotels in need of a shake up...parking was good, reception on arrival was excellent, then it went a little downhill...ITV was showing live FA Cup match , couldn't watch it in the room as there were NO ITV channels available. We were on a DBB basis, went down for dinner at 20:00, only one other couple present...menus arrived, we asked if there was a wine list....you have to go up to the bar and sort that yourself...off I trot only to have to wait five minutes as the barman needed to go down to the kitchen with some bar orders...there were probably three waiting staff in the restaurant looking after two tables of two yet the lone barman was doing the leg work...the white zinfandel wasn't too bad but the experience soured the first sip. Sunday morning breakfast wasn't too bad; hot buffet with all the main ingredients for a full English available...the weather was great so we'd opted for a second night...Mondays breakfast was a lesser experience...we arrived 15 minutes ahead of the published end time and there was no buffet to be seen, and no mention when we arrived that there was a need to request and order the meal... hearing others complain we cottoned on and I got sorted BUT while we waited a beleaguered waiter was given words of encouragement by my partner, only for him to say he wasn't at his best, having needed two loo breaks already that morning...watching him serve another table without the aid of a serving tray, thumbs uppermost I was glad someone else delivered mine

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!!! We’d travelled a long way and when we arrived, they said we weren’t booked in. We’d booked & paid in full with Hotels.com. The staff were extremely rude & simply couldn’t care less that we were tired and now had nowhere to stay. Turns out the hotel had double booked the rooms - even though they were STILL showing available on Hotels.com. The attitude of the hotel staff was appalling - just trying to get us out and not caring at all that it was late evening & we had nowhere to go.

The hotel was a maze.. poor sinage lead to being lost easily, first room smelt as sewage.

Staff were wonderful and lovely. Room was large but needed a little TLC. Beds really comfortable. Food very disappointing. However, I would definitely stay here again.

It was great to be able to access the swimming pool while waiting for my room to he ready.

Stayed here for 2 nights hotel was ok nothing special room was cold! Staff were not very helpful at all when asked questions! Pool was cold aswell

My radiator wasn't working, and it was no trouble at all to sort it out straight away. Harsh was very helpful

Beautiful suite, lovely views, very spacious bathroom. Straight out of the lift. Excellent value for money.

Terrible stay avoid at all cost

Very welcoming lovely receptionist, over night stay with a friend as we had a Christmas party in the hotel next door. Good value and nice stay.

This time, room wasnt so good. Or the bed. But previously, ive had a much nicer room. The security man was so helpful.

Our room smelt of cigarette smoke , the young guy on reception disputed this . Our balcony /terrace was covered in cigarette butts. It had not been cleaned . Over charged 2 times at £27 . The card machine was faulty according to rude bar staff. Hotel saying they will look into it . I ordered and paid for champagne to be in our room on arrival . It was not there . I had to kick up a fuss to get the bottle I had paid for as the rude bar staff said they had none left . Several hours later a bottle arrived . The restaurant was not in use to hotel guests as a private party was being held . The sister hotels also had private parties . We ordered bar snacks “nachos” which arrived disguised as a brick . Completely inedible . In room the information sheet states that breakfast is ordered vis room service . On arrival the young man ( who was texting on his phone ) told us to order breakfast via room service . At 9am we ordered our room service only to be told that we had to pre book it the night before at reception. The staff were obnoxious and could not care any less . Sadly this is the first bad review I have had to leave . I contacted the hotel directly to address my issues . They did not respond .

Not impressed with our stay. Room had a musty smell that didnt improve over the 3 night stay. Bathroom tap was loose so had to move it upright to wash your hands. Decided to have a meal in the bar on the last night. Had minimal choice on the menu. Decided on steak... not sure what meat it was but not what i would call steak. It was like processed meat which was salty and boiled. After waiting for some cutlery, we discovered there was only one steak knife (2 of us were eating steak). After waiting another 5 minutes, we were told there were no other steak knives! By this time, i had finished my meal so my husband could use my knife. The hotel states free parking but this is only if you book directly with them, otherwise it is £12 per day.
