My room was cleand during the stay at suncliff hotel it was exceptionally good staff wear excellent evening entertainment excellent in all i enjoyed my stay at suncliff hotel very much the food was good and the service good

Rooms clean and look recently decorated, beds felt tired and could do with new firmer mattress. Hotel looked very clean and modern, the staff were very helpful

The stay was clean and a excellent service was given also the staff helpful.

Lovely older building with feeling of luxury, being dated is part of the charm.

Loved the fact we were a stone's throw away from the beach cliff. Greatbplace to go for a morning jog. 😀

My room was ok though found hair in my bed

You can tell that this was a beautiful hotel in it's day. It really needs a fresh paint job and some upkeep. The elevator was out so we had to walk up several stairs to our room. The room was nice and looked like to had been updated a bit. The staff was very nice, especially the ladies in the bar area. They were very friendly & accommodating.

The hotel staff food my room was excellent lovely view of the sea no noise at night and bar staff were so polite and friendly and town centre 15 min walk away with a lovely park to walk through would definitely go back

Old place but cheap and cheerful and a great location.

Positive points: Comfortable bed, working bathroom facility's and fairly friendly staff. Negative points: I was not told what the paperwork i was signing was about and the key points of the clauses, in the paperwork I was not informed the lift was broken as I'm disabled and have assistance dog as they put me on the third floor this was a problem because i have bad knees and mobility problems and i found this difficult to traverse up and down the flights of stairs every day. I was not informed about any of the facility's on the site such as the restaurant or the bar where i could of got food as i did not know about them i was getting food offsite. Which i had to find myself as was not given any information about the local area the room itself was too small for what it was meant to be and felt Claustrophobic with me and my dog in the same room when i signed out a day earlier than i should of i was not ask the reason for this and wasn't asked if i had a nice stay at the hotel. You could buy drink at the bar with a card, which made this difficult due to me losing my card during the week and only having cash on me. Overall i did not like the atmosphere of the hotel as i feeling judged by the staff and other people staying at the hotel.

Warm welcome. Hotel is old and the room was as clean as it was possible to clean an old room. Communal areas were less clean including bannisters. Gym, pool and spa are not open until 8.00am so not good for anyone who prefers to exercise before breakfast.

When we checked in the offer us 3rd floor room then they said by the way lifts are not working,we have to walk stairs and stairs, then I asked if we can change the room, they asked extra 40£a night to change with balcony,on the way to the room, the room service stuff said the lifts are out of order for the last 2 weeks, It's showing how they trying take money from customers with fixing,we have to check out one night before, it's one of the dirty hotel I have been seen, the management needs attention to the hotel not only money, shame on the conditions of this hotel,

This is a tired hotel with unmotivated staff and poor facilities. I have a long list of reasons not to stay here! A Premier Inn knocks spots off this hotel. Dont waste your money by booking here. The lift doesn't work (i had to walk 5 flights of stairs to get to my room), the staff are miserable, the carpets are stale, the furniture old and falling apart, room facilities poor, the shower is awful (no water pressure (its like a slow dripping hose pipe)), the hotel bar is dire! Food is a rip off!! I paid £15 for a tiny oven cooked fish and chips. The worse i have ever eaten! Crap entertainment (kareoke 2 days a week). When asking if entertainment on a Saturday, the managet actually said to me they didnt have the budget, which gives you an idea of how little money they have to invest in the hotel. The above are just a few observations.. The location is the best thing about the hotel. But i dont recommend anyone staying here. Thenowners clearlynrumnyhe hitel inna dhoe string. Theres a distinct lack of investment that can be felt the moment you walk in. I would find a more modern hotel, somewhere where you actually feel like youre on a holiday as this hotel didnt!

We had to be moved rooms because the lift was out of use and my friend wasn't able to walk up all the stairs. This wasn't informed to us until we got to the hotel otherwise we would have found a different place to stay at

Clean room, Seaview, Room service available. I booked four nights, upon arrival the lift was not working. As I am disabled. After the 1st night, I requested a possible move to a ground floor room or move to the next door sister hotel. As I had booked a Seaview with terrace. The manager Julian, ensured we was given an equivalent valued or upgraded room, he arranged for an upgraded move at no extra charge to the next door sister hotel which had a working lift, Seaview and private balcony. Our daily breakfast request was also honoured. Julian, thank you so much for your understanding also for a smooth transition. Customer service at it's best!

My room was on the 4th floor and the lift was broken. The hotel was fine, but felt a bit faded and in need of a refresh.

There were lots of nice things about the hotel, it was very reasonably priced, had a swimming pool and sauna. The breakfast was a limited buffet with the hot food trad British eggs and bacon and done very nicely. The furniture in the room was a little tired but everything worked. They seem to be running on low staff numbers, although the staff in general were very pleasant and helpful. Would be happy to return again. Wonder what it is like peak season?
