Superb. Seamless check-in and out. Spotless room, comfortable bed, powerful shower, nightlite in bathroom. We didn't have breakfast, but ate dinner in the River Grille, and the food was delicious. The service was exemplary also. Only very minor gripe was that they had XO cognac at the bar, and no proper brandy glasses. Barman actually asked if he should put the cognac in my coffee!

Location and parking were brilliant. Not enough tables at breakfast to cater for people staying at hotel meant waiting for over 5 minute's.

Checked in on Friday, and told that there was a half marathon on Sunday which meant we could not use the road from 7.30. That meant for us, really no point staying as would need to leave before that. So we checked out on Saturday - reception seemed to agree this was sensible and no other option. Then they would not agree refund - seems unreasonable to me.

Stayed here last year and had a smaller room but with a view. Nice size bathroom with a lovely walk in shower. Upgraded to a larger room this year at mire cost but extremely dissapointed. Whilst the room was bigger, no view at all and the bathroom was tiny. The toilet was so enclosed that it was difficult to use…and I’m not a big person. And even standing in the bath to have a shower was cramped. The room itself was big enough to modify the bathroom. Apart from that, everything else was very good.

Pillows are like air not in a good way no good for side sleeper couldn’t sleep for hours then woke up with sore neck , asked for another pillow was told if they can find one we can have one One was left in the room so at least that was sorted ., furniture chipped such a shame as could of stayed elsewhere for much cheaper but it’s where we stayed for our anniversary last time and planned on returning here in the future but I think we will look elsewhere now

Good sized room (classic double) although bathroom will be too much on the cosy side for some. Friendly staff, hotel was very clean everywhere and the breakfast was good and bar area was nice. Only issue we had was the paper thin walls between rooms. We were watching tv at a reasonable volume around 10.30pm and had the room next door banging on the wall. We thought they were being a bit unreasonable but as we went to sleep, realised we could hear the person in the other adjacent room snoring as if he were in ours. Might only be a certain number of rooms like this, but we were in Room 128 if you’re reading this, hotel manager!
