We stayed one night while we were in Bristol for a show at the Hippodrome. It is an older hotel, but a comfortable stay with convenient car parking. It is conveniently located within walking distance of many sites and places to eat. We had a good size, clean room. The bed comfortable and showers hot. We really liked the white company toiletries, and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. Would be happy to stay if we are in the area again.

Every member of staff that I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, very clean and well presented. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and a wonderful view of the river to accompany your meal. Really enjoyed my stay here.

My partner and I really enjoy staying here, it's always our go to. The staff are helpful and polite and the breakfast is consistently good. Our only complaint is the lack of air con. During our last stay it was about 27c outside and we're only provided with a sub par fan. We have air con units in our home so we didn't sleep well during our stay as it was far too hot. Unfortunately this will probably stop us from staying here in the summer in future.

The location was great for the conference I attended at the nearby M Shed. The breakfast options were well presented and good quality and the setting was lovely. The bedroom was great in terms of cleanliness and quality of facilities. BUT on one of the hottest days of May with outside temperatures at 35⁰ the hotel had taken central control of the bedroom AC temperatures which they set at an uncomfortable 21⁰. I opened the window but with no breeze from outside, I barely slept. Lack of sleep and heat-related exhaustion affected my participation in the conference on the following day. Colleagues who stayed at a far cheaper local hotel had excellent air conditioning during their stay! Overall, indpite of the positives I wouldn't stay again since a good hotel stay is essentially about having a good night's sleep and being refreshed for the next days activities.

We received a lovely welcome when we checked in and we were upgraded to a larger room with a waterside view. The hotel is perfectly located for the Bristol Sounds events and provides easy access to a wide range of food and drink options. We booked for bed and breakfast and we are glad we did, the buffet breakfast offered a selection of hot and cold choices and the breakfast room is delightful.

A good stay at the Bristol Hotel, I have been coming for many years. It being the hottest June day on record so far, air con was essential and I didn’t realise some rooms do not have aircon, including mine. This was sorted out for me , I was moved room by the helpful man on reception, but I could not have stayed in the other room. So do take care on booking, and Bristol hotel is it not time to get air con in all your rooms given it’s a premium hotel. Otherwise an enjoyable and quality hotel

There was no air conditioning in most of the rooms, which is quite dated for a hotel of this scale. The room was unbearable with the heat wave, as it was small too there was no natural ventilation other than the window which opened slightly and it was impossible to sleep. The bathroom was very dated too, as the shower was in the bath and not big enough, the bathroom as a whole was tiny too. For the money paid it was not value for money at all.

Overall, this hotel is a 3.5 star. Convenient and lovely location but it needs some tlc. I have stayed on two different occasions and this is my rating. Breakfast is good and dinner is ok. Lovely dining area with a lovely view, and staff are very friendly and helpful - not fault anywhere there. Hotel is a bit tired in places and cleanliness was good on my first stay but terrible on my second. My room on the first stay again was a good size and on my second was very small - but that is fine as I booked my second stay last minute. Overall, I would and probbably will stay here again but it is a 3.5 star hotel OVERALL.

The staff at this hotel are all really lovely. I stayed here in January and had a great stay with a really nice room hence why I returned. This time we were initially put in a very old, tiny and tired looking room where thecarpet was lifting etc. They moved us to better room but this still wasn't the experience I had a few months ago. I think there must be absolute extremes of what type of room you get which will decide whether you have an excellent or just an okay experience. The breakfast is absolutely lovely!
