Upon arrival, our suitcases were taken from us by the Bell boy as per usual process at a nice hotel. We went to our room and waited over 30 minutes for the bags, at which point we then went back to reception to see our cases sat at the back of a very big queue of cases still to be dealt with. The reception was chaos and as we wanted to start to enjoy our holiday, we then took our own cases to our room and changed and unpacked. Our room was OK. Be aware, the hotel is currently undergoing a massive amount of building work and the hotel is dusty and noisy as a result. It is not at all like the pictures around the pool that are displayed. The general staff in the bar and restaurants are beyond poor, they look bored and when you ask for service, they walk in the other direction and avoid work as much as they can. During our stay, some younger workers were introduced to the breakfast service, they were so much better! People had eaten food in the pool bar and the plates and remains of food were left there for hours - plenty of staff around to clean up but they left it all. Staff at breakfast were slightly better but essentially, the breakfast staff end up being the staff at other areas of the hotel later in the day. None of which are bothered about guests by the looks. One server left us so long with a menu, we walked off after 20 minutes without placing an order. I would not go back to this hotel. Outside of the hotel, begging children are all around, asking for money.

Location good. Construction noice. You hear it by the main pool but nothing crazy. I did feel like walking around and under the scaffolding to get to the main lobby, at times, felt unsafe with people and cranes working above. The staff, need some customer service training except for Naoufal. He works the front by the luggage. I have no specific complaint about anyone. Only to say. When you show up to get exchange, no one is there. The front desk. They just carry on their chat in front of you and no one acknowledges that you have been standing there for 5 min trying to ask a question. The phone service, they transfer you everywhere and tell you someone will call you back and never do. They tell you breakfast is till 11. Got there at 10:30 one morning and everything had been pulled away. Breakfast was fantastic though. The place was well kept. Beds were comfortable and the room was not old or dated. I would stay there again, I think. But if those things would ruin your stay … pick another place.

The hotel is in a perfect location to most lovely places one wiuld want to visit. Very clean with nice staff, but at times felt like there were not enough of them. This meant a bit of a delay/ wait. Finally the one issue that was rather disappointing is the fact that all places in the hotel allowed for smoking.

Lovely hotel! Though I think that when a hotel is renovating they have a duty along with the travel companies like yourselves to inform the customer before booking. That is a bit sly. I found the pool menu and the room service menu very below standard. Needs improving. Overall, the hotel is very nice including the staff. Just needs a little attention with the finer details being a 5 Star hotel. Just lacks that little bit of class.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. The AC wasn’t functioning well and most of the time the room was very hot. Room service is very late and not to the standard of the price paid. Misunderstood the booking days and made me pay for an extra night while at checkin I gave them the dates I was supply to stay, when I told them they need to fix it they argued about the new price and when asked for the authorities they wouldn’t call the police and physically blocked me from leaving the premises to call the police. They held my suitcases and passport in my room and did not inform me that I was supposed to checkout on the 19th until I returned from my day out. Overall customer service is very poor and unprofessional, there is no customer satisfaction not the price paid is worth the amenities. Paid similar price at the ritz and had the best ever experience and service. This shows how the hospitality in French managed hotels in Morocco and the customer service in general still lacking and the bureau of tourism should be aware of these issues. I would not recommend this facility to anyone else in the future.

I travel all year for work and this is the worst hotel i have ever been too. Staff are rude and dont care! Rooms are dated and everything in room was broken including tv, balcony, door iron and safe. Told management but didnt really care Spoke to General Manager Muhammed and he was worse than his staff. Told me he would give me a discount when i go back to hotel as if i ever would. He was rude an arrogant. The changed our room 3 times in 3 days which took hours to do but he couldn't see a problem with that. Rudest General manager iv ever encountered. Pool area is nice with DJ playing but staff just dont care. Im in Marrakech every year and its amazing. Arab culture is so welcoming but this hotel is the opposite. Even every taxi we got in agreed that all they ever heard was problems with this hotel. No wander it has changed names 4 times in past 20 years. Btw is fully under construction but in there true sneaky way they dont tell you. Reception was full of people complaining and all you could hear around the pool area was people with issues with hotel. This was not unique to me. Reviews must be manufactured or fabricated. U must visit Marrakech it is amazing but if you stay at this hotel your trip will be ruined.

Overall we were quite disappointed in this hotel. It carries the "Savoy" name but is considerably rough around the edges. One of the four hotel buildings is actually an incomplete building site. The finishings in the rooms are of a quite sub-standard (poor tile grouting, marble still have writing on it from installation, our balcony door would not lock). The hotel also charges too much for some services, given their quality. For example, the evening buffet cost around £25 per head but the food was overall fairly poor. We only ate there as our flight arrived late. Another example is that the hotel charges £20 per person for 1 hour of hot tub use, even if you have purchased spa treatments. Every other spa I have ever been to would include this for free if you had booked treatments. Cocktails are also exorbitant prices. The staff were generally very helpful, but no more so than a normal hotel.
