Caribe Hilton

For over three hundred dollars a night, I expected a nicer room, with a walk and shower, almost slipped in the tub.. And somewhat better amenities.. but this is an older hotel..

Hotel was nice; did not appreciate the $42.00USD Resort Fee we were charged on our last night. Rooms were nice but a bit dated, especially for the price paid.

For over 15 years I’ve preferred to stay at this Hilton when I’m in San Juan. This trip I was very disappointed of the poor maintenance of the property and about 70% of the staff was very rude. The property could use a paint refresh on the wall by the beach area, it’s an easy esthetic to do. The huge deck right at the beach is totally destroyed and a huge fence around it so ruins your ocean views if you have to get the chairs on that side. We stayed in one of the Beach rooms and the view of the dirty, full of garbage rooftop ruins a bit of the beautiful ocean views. They should at least clean up the garbage on it. The room was ok but could use a refresh. The room towels although clean they had a lot of wear and tear. Some frayed and stained. The rude employees were at the check in, check out counter, pool bar and lobby bar, We arrived at the hotel early and were ok waiting for the room with check in being at 4pm. But when the time came around and we still didn’t have a room and we inquired they were rude and said that 4pm is not a guarantee to get a room. We didn’t get our room until closer to 5pm and it was only because we kept asking about it. When checking out and we wanted to know about if the final parking charges were already on the bill or how that would work, we were treated as if we were being an inconvenience the guy kept talking over us and wanted us to leave. I had to insist that he give us a printed receipt for our stay since he couldn’t answer our questions.

We had a good experience at the Caribe Hilton. Check in was quick and efficient, the staff was pleasant, and the overall facility was in good shape. We enjoyed the lagoon and pools and we had no problem securing chaise lounge. Uber pick up was close and the resort is only a few minutes away from Old San Juan. The rooms do need a refresh, but they were clean, the A/C was fine and the shower water pressure was excellent.

This hotel looks very nice in the photos, but the rooms are very dated and in need of an upgrade. We had a room in the wave wing on the third floor, with a view that looks directly out over a roof portion of the hotel, which is drastically in need of repair. The staff were moderately courteous at best, with the exception of Starbucks workers on the property. One of the bartenders in the lobby bar was very unfriendly. Food and drinks at the hotel were very overpriced. There are several restaurants within one to two blocks of the hotel that were more moderately priced and had decent food. It was about a 35 to 40 minute walk into old San Juan from the hotel, which was fine for us because we wanted the exercise. And it only cost four dollars one way to Uber from the hotel into town. I would not stay there again, and instead would choose another hotel in the Condado area or in old San Juan.

Very lovely resort! Most of the staff was very polite, helpful and friendly. The pool and beach access was fantastic and beautiful. I did not appreciate the selective enforcement of using small personal speakers on the resort grounds. I was doing a yoga exercise at the edge of the beachfront and a guard stopped me immediately from using my speaker but I witnessed him stand by silently as another guest blared music from his--the major difference was he was buying bottles from the bar. Also we had an ant infestation in our bathroom for three days and our room keys stopped working two days into the trip. We had to wait in a long line to get them recalibrated after returning back to the hotel after a night out!

Very nice. Loved the resort. Private balcony and fast efficient elevator in the hotel area. Bars and restaurants are great. Very cool beach area, decent pool. Friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent all around. Our second time staying at this hotel and will be back again in the future.

We loved our stay at the Caribe Hotel. Everything was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly overall.

l like the view and food

It was a nice place, but there were ants in the bedroom and there was no mention about $50.00 resort fees daily. which tacked on a lovely $600.00 extra dollars

Close to Old San Juan and airport. Convenient

It was beautiful view i think the food is pricey would be better to have breakfast or something included during stay. Maybe microwave info as well. The laundry facility was not working properly but other then that amazing

Although the rooms are somewhat outdated and kept the rooms nice and clean old, the housekeeping staff kept it very clean

Had my reservation cancel in their system , had to wait about 40 min just to get horrible rooms then had to go down wait longer to get someone correct rooms schedule a massage had to wait longer than 35 min after appointment just left waiting in the waiting area didn’t even offer water

Common areas are good. Rooms in general need a lot of upgrades and better maintenance in general.

Like any city, there are good and bad locations. That said, the location for this hotel is perfect! Very close to the airport and even closer to Old San Juan. The lagoon that they created is very nice and welcoming, rooms were not bad. We had a jr suite and I'm happy to report that the room looked just like the pics so, no surprises. There are a handful of really cozy bars right off the hotel property. Food all around was ok, nothing that really stood out as good or bad, about average...although we came for the sights and werent disappointed! We will be back!
