Legacy Ottoman Hotel

Just not 5 stars at all like advertised. It has the potential to be 5 stars but it’s an uphill climb. My room was an atrium facing room which was boiling hot the whole time. The hotel switched the AC function off and suggested the window is opened to the hot inside atrium for “cooler air”. No fan was offered and the room was above the loud reception area. Housekeeping needs work - trash was under the bed they had just been left there, and restocking of toiletries was not done without asking. The hotel has a nice location in the old town, so that was one plus. Overall, not a nice stay and not what was advertised. I will say the concierge was the saying grace and was very helpful with airport transfer and ensuring everything was all set. The hotel has potential but I would not stay there again.

As soon as I booked, the hotel guest relations team reached out. I mentioned it was a short break to celebrate my wife’s birthday and requested a Bosporus view room. To my delight, we were given that dream room, even though it was normally a higher rate. The room was clean and tidy, well-maintained considering its age. The breakfast was truly 5-star quality — varied, fresh, and delicious. Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, making us feel warmly welcomed. Specially, guest relation officer Ms Salma used to welcome us every morning and had a good chat and wellbeing. We returned home with wonderful memories of this stay. The thoughtful service and stunning view made it unforgettable

1/5 – Very Disappointing Stay We had a very bad experience at this hotel. At check-in (2:00 PM), our room was not ready, and we ended up waiting until 2:40 PM with no proper explanation or excuse. Even though I explained to the staff that we were extremely tired after an early morning flight, they simply advised us to wait in the lobby, and even suggested we order tea or coffee with extra charges!!! We had two rooms, and while one of them had the AC working perfectly, our room had no AC at all. When we asked for help, they told us the AC wasn’t working because it’s “winter time”, even though the temperature was 22°C. The funny part is that the other room had AC! We needed the AC because opening the window meant dealing with a lot of noise and mosquitoes, which made it impossible to rest. Once we finally got the room, it was far from clean, the bathroom and bathtub were dirty, the bed sheets didn’t look fresh, and even the carpets were not clean. Breakfast was another disappointment. The restaurant had dirty chairs, unclean tables, and even the tea cups were not properly washed. On top of that, our room key kept malfunctioning, and we had to pass by reception every single time to fix it. To make things worse, many staff members were rude and unprofessional. This is absolutely NOT a 5-star hotel, and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

No air conditioning meant being part of the nighly seagull symphony. The young lady you have working as guest relations is fantastic at her job. Enjoyed staying at your hotel and would recommend it, seagulls notwithstanding

Rooms were clean and nit, although missing a couple of items, s.a. tea bags and coffee, etc. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. An unpleasant event that occurred during checkout was the receptionist trying to add a Redbull to my bill, which we did not even have in our mini-bar - hence cannot give full 5 stars. Unfortunately, this is a common issue in hotels in Turkiye.

The rooms were far too hot which meant we couldnt sleep properly. We stayed in November and for some reason there was no air con available in the rooms only heating and the rooms were stuffy and uncomfortably hot. There was also poor lighting in the rooms which made shaving and applying make up difficult. Finally there was a problem with check in on arrival which meant we were allocated a twin room rather than the king sized room we paid for. It was resolved quickly but led to a bad first impression.

It may have been 5* back in the day but now in serious need of a refurb. Staff borderline rude on arrival

Room condition could be improved Cleanliness

The room was very run down with small damages to furniture and walls. There was possibly black mold in the bathroom behind a gap between the bathtub and wall. The room was very dark and not easy to see. We ran out of toilet paper and I had to go to the front desk twice to ask for more as no one attended after the first request. There was caulking built up along the bathtub edge to prevent water from spilling onto the ground. The bathroom counter was not very spacious. The bed was not a King size, it was a either a Queen or Double and was not very comfy. The black out curtains did not extend to all windows, so light came in from the atrium. Additionally, noise from the atrium carried through the windows into our room. We did not receive the 10% discount on spa service as the booking stated.

Centre

The hotel is a magnificent building and rooms are charming but a little tired. The hotel is well located for easy access to the major tourist sites and the ferry terminals. Most of the front desk staff were helpful but they need to smile more. I would stay at this hotel again.

I had 5 night stay with family from uk had a wonderful time location is good you can walk most of the places tourist attraction, plenty of food around to eat.Definately recommended Enjoyed holiday with kids

The hotel is in a great location to walk to restaurants, shops, the water front, and historocal sites. The breakfast buffet is good, but not great. The building is older, but well maintained. It has a rooftop bar with a great view of the waterfront.

Only made bed and replaced new towels but do not help replace clean coffee cups. Need to list prices for drinks in room refrigerator. Lightings in room were too dark and not sufficient plugs. Breakfast should include more choices of meats not just hot dogs. Staff were friendly.

Fantastic location for everything. This is my 2nd time to Istanbul but first stay in this hotel. Staff, cleanliness, location, breakfast, room.. absolutely everything was perfect!! I will definitely be back to Istanbul because I love it here and definitely back to this hotel !!

Had a great room that overlooked the Blue Mosque and city. Best location and walkable to everything. Wonderful restaurants. A huge shout out to the bellman Ozcan for his assistance and professionalism! Will definitely come back! Highly recommend!

Located within walking distance from many of the sightseeing attractions in Istanbul.
