The Hakone-en Aquarium sits 723 meters above sea level and offers a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi. It is divided into three main areas: the Baikal Seal Plaza, the Seawater Pavilion, and the Freshwater Pavilion—totaling 32,000 fish from over 450 species around the world! One of the most popular events is the Baikal Seal Show, wherein guests can observe the seals up close. There's also the Underwater Show wherein divers feed the fish while inside the giant tank. The open-air tank at the Seawater Pavilion acts as the centerpiece of the aquarium, standing at an impressive 7 meters, and contains 1,255 tons of seawater.
