About Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway

Located by Lake Kawaguchi in Yamanashi Prefecture, the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway is a popular spot for reaching the summit of Mt. Tenjo. A 3-minute ride takes you to the observation area at an altitude of approximately 1,075 meters, offering breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi; on clear days, you can even see the Southern Alps in the distance.

The summit features several popular facilities, including the 'Swing of Scenic Beauty' that swings out toward Mt. Fuji, a panoramic observation deck for close-up views of the mountain, the 'Tenjo Bell' facing Mt. Fuji, as well as unique experiences like the Rabbit Shrine based on the 'Kachi-Kachi Yama' folktale and clay plate throwing. Visitors can also enjoy signature dango at the 'Tanuki Chaya' while taking in the stunning views of Mt. Fuji.

The 'Good Luck Plaza,' which opened in July 2026, brings together lucky experiences such as the Rabbit Shrine, clay plate throwing, fishing rod fortune-telling, ema (votive tablets), and amulets in one area, allowing you to experience traditional Japanese culture even on rainy days. Additionally, the newly built Scenic Observation Staircase, decorated with bright red torii gates and stone lanterns, offers a path to the Good Luck Plaza where you can enjoy the seasonal changes of Mt. Fuji, making it the newest photo spot at the summit.
