About Nikko 1-Day Tour: Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Kegon Waterfall, & Nikko Onsen (Departure from Shinjuku, Tokyo) | Japan

The lavishly decorated shrine complex consists of more than a dozen buildings set in a beautiful forest

Nikko Toshogu Shrine, one of the most famous shrines in the Kanto area, completed the largest restoration project in 40 years in 2017. The construction cost of "Yomeimon" alone has exceeded 1 billion yen. In addition to the magnificent appearance, there are sculptures full of legends such as "Three Apes", "Sleeping Cat" and "Singing Dragon" inside the building.

On the way from Toshogu Shrine to Lake Chuzenji, a mountain road consisting of 48 detours. It is the "Iropo Mountain Road" that appears in the Initial D.

Kegon Falls, one of the three major waterfalls in Japan, is a large waterfall formed by the river flowing from Lake Chuzenji. The waterfall pouring down from a height of 97 meters is very magnificent, and it is set off by the different scenery in different seasons next to it.

Lake Chuzenji is the largest lake in Tochigi Prefecture

In the late 19th century, it was a summer resort for famous foreigners, and the French and Belgian embassies in Japan can still be found by the lake. Lake Chuzenji was formed 20,000 years ago due to the rise of Mt. Nantai. The water in the lake is so clear that its reflection is like a mirror. Walking by the lake makes you feel refreshed and forget your troubles.

The spring quality of Nikko Hot Spring is alkaline simple hot spring, which is very mild. It is said to relieve neuralgia, fifty shoulders, relieve fatigue, and improve health

Guests who do not use hot springs will receive a Nikko specialty "Gold Leaf Honey Cake" as a gift
