Mikael Jasin has been in love with coffee for a long time ago and started to have his journey to learn more about coffee in 2012 when he was in Australia. His curiosity in coffee brought him from one coffee bar to another, until he got to one of the busiest cafés in Melbourne.

Back to Indonesia in 2017, Mikael chose to join Common Grounds Coffee Roasters & ST. Ali Jakarta, working in Marketing & Quality Control Division. Until finally he decided to build SSG Coffee Company as a co-founder.

Won an award as the best barista

His love for coffee has been shown by getting many national awards. In 2019 and 2020, Mikael won Indonesia Barista Championship. This luck brought him to an international championship in Boston and took the fourth place in WWC Boston 2019. Now he’s preparing himself to join his second international championship.

Not only is he busy in the kitchen, but Mikael also now shares his knowledge about coffee by providing consulting service and train national and international clients, He’s also happy to be involved with post-harvest activity with the farmers. Mikael never hesitates to go right away to the coffee farm and see how the fresh beans processed.

Besides coffee, Mikael is also a fan of wine and carbs. To balance his hobby, Mikael never forgets to work out and run at 4 in the morning. Sometimes he is even able to fast for days for a charity event.
