After launching the first generation luxury train with a capacity of 18 passengers with partitioned seats in 2018 and the 2nd generation in 2019, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has launched its newest service innovation.

On October 10 2023, KAI inaugurated a compartment train or Suite Class Compartment Train at Gambir Station. This Suite Class Compartment train is designed to provide maximum customer privacy, where there are only 16 private spaces in one train for each customer.

Quoted from the official PT KAI website, Friday (13/10/2023), KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said, with the presence of compartment trains, aka Suite Class Compartment Trains, KAI wants to create an excellent and reliable customer experience.

Facilities that can only be found on Suite Class Compartment trains include sliding doors that are moved automatically, seats that can recline up to 180 degrees and can be rotated to adjust the direction of train travel.

It doesn't stop there, the tilt angle of the headrest, legs and body can also be adjusted. This chair also has a folding tray that can be used as a dining table or work desk.

During the trip, customers are offered a complete range of facilities, including seat heating and massage features that can be adjusted via the setting buttons on each seat, increasing comfort and making the trip memorable.

Apart from that, entertainment facilities are also available on the side near the window, with the Train Onboard Infotainment System which contains a variety of popular films, music from various genres, as well as national television channels that can be enjoyed throughout the journey.

Passengers are also pampered with food services in the form of appetizers, main dishes, desserts, as well as various drinks and various other special services.

Not to forget, the spacious granite-clad toilet facilities are equipped with an automatic sitting toilet, automatic wash basin complete with mirror, automatic hand dryer, automatic hand washing soap container, and LED lights which add a luxurious, sophisticated and hygienic impression to this Suite Class Compartment Train.

In order to create a comfortable atmosphere, the room design is dominated by golden brown colors with dim lighting and decorative decorations inspired by the Dayak tribe.

Currently, Suite Class Compartment trains are operated on Bima trains on the Gambir - Surabaya Gubeng PP route and Argo Semeru trains on the Gambir - Surabaya Gubeng PP route.
