Dieng Culture Festival is a cultural festival with the concept of synergy between elements of culture, Dieng's natural tourism potential, and local community empowerment so they can maximize their potential. Initiated by the Dieng Pandawa Tourism Awareness Group created this event in 2010 in collaboration with Equator Sinergi Indonesia and Dieng Ecotourism.
Initially, the title of this event was Dieng Culture Week, but in the third year, the committee and the community changed the name to what we know today. Not only introducing the culture and nature of Dieng to the tourists, but this event also aims to make the public understand how important tourism is for life in general.
The prominent uniqueness of the Dieng Culture Festival is the culture it promotes, namely the culture of the Dieng people. It starts with the Ruwatan, cutting the dreadlocks of children, hoping to cut away bad luck for the dreadlocks and the people of Dieng in general.
Apart from Ruwatan, you can also enjoy the Jazz Atas Awan. This event showcases live jazz performances on the Dieng plateau, shrouded in fog at night. Jazz music, the gentle yet cold breeze, and a stunning view bring a serene ambiance.
Apart from the two big agendas above, several other schedules are fascinating. For example, Clean Dieng, sky lanterns, then an exhibition of Dieng MSME superior products, art, cultural shows, and many others. The release of the lanterns is one of the festival participants' most eagerly awaited events, and these lanterns will be released into the air, creating tantalizing surroundings.
