Traveloka CTO and Co-Founder Derianto Kusuma Departs

JAKARTA, 27 November 2018 - Today, Traveloka announces the resignation of co-founder Derianto Kusuma from his position as Chief Technology Officer, effective November 30th, 2018.

Together with the other co-founders, Mr. Kusuma has built Traveloka since 2012 and taken the company to its outstanding growth, becoming one of the leading technology companies in Southeast Asia.

“Deri has played an unparalleled role in Traveloka’s development and success by building, scaling, and making not only sustainable technology capability and systems, but also a sustainable organization,” said Ferry Unardi, CEO and co-founder of Traveloka.

Mr. Unardi added, “Deri has been exploring this for some months with me and our investors. A hand-over process is already in place, and we will continue what we have been building for the organization — setting the bar high. We will continue to grow and focus on achieving our long-term goal, to be a world-class technology company that offers services to millions.”

Mr. Kusuma commented, “It has been an amazing journey from the birth of Traveloka implementing world-class mindset and capability in Southeast Asia, where we bring to customers and partners a higher bar of quality and accountability across all our endeavors, overcoming different types of challenges across different stages of the company. I am glad to have worked with all of you in bringing Traveloka to this point.““Since Traveloka is undergoing a gear change, and my technology transformation job is done with a solid team that can carry our solid foundations forward, and a future runway is secured through the latest financing round, it is the right time for me to move on to my next chapter.”

Deri will focus on developing a new venture in a non-competing category.
