Jakarta, 12 July 2021 - In order to support the acceleration of national vaccine distribution, the Health Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI), Port Health Authority-Ministry of Health (KKP-Kemenkes) Soekarno-Hatta, PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), and Traveloka today launch ‘Vaccination at Airport’ services. Located at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Banten. The vaccination center operates every day at 08.00-17.00 WIB on 12-25 July 2021 targeting the general public aged 18 years and above including the elderly, without domicile requirements. Targeting 14,000 vaccine recipients for the first dose during the two-week implementation period, this initiative is a joint effort between the government and the private sector (public-private partnership / PPP) in accelerating the establishment of herd immunity, which has become the current government's focus.

As we know, the surge in COVID-19 cases continues to occur in Indonesia, especially with the entry of new virus mutations, such as the Delta variant. The data on July 7, 2021, showed that Indonesia recorded more than 34,000 additional daily cases. Various efforts have been made by the government to lower the spike in cases, starting from increasing testing and tracing, increasing the capacity of beds and ICU rooms in hospitals, adding medicines and health workers, promoting health protocols to the public, up to accelerating vaccine distribution.

dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM. MARS., Plt., Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, said, “One of the government's priorities in handling the current COVID-19 pandemic is to accelerate the implementation of vaccinations. Our target is to vaccinate 1-2 million doses every day. Therefore, collaboration with various parties is needed, such as what was done by the Health Ministry, KKP, AP II, and Traveloka to provide vaccination services at the airport. We hope that this service can help the government's efforts to expand vaccination coverage and make it easier for Indonesians to get COVID-19 vaccinations so that the herd immunity can be reached soon."

In line with the Health Ministry, Agus Haryadi, Executive General Manager, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, also conveyed the importance of providing easy access to vaccinations for the public. The selection of vaccination locations in the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport area is also considered appropriate, considering the airport as one of the departure and arrival gates with high traffic. “Airports, as gateways for people who need to travel to other cities, record a large number of daily visitors. Therefore, presenting vaccination facilities at the airport is expected to make it easier for travelers to protect themselves and their destination. Not only for people who travel, we also open this service to the general public, including people living in areas around the airport, in order to spur the establishment of herd immunity in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). We hope that this joint initiative can contribute to assisting the government in dealing with the pandemic.”

Iko Putera, Director of Transport, Traveloka said , "The Vaccination at the Airport service is a manifestation of Traveloka's commitment to assisting the government's efforts in handling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. It is an honor for us to gain the trust of the Health Ministry, KKP, and also AP II to participate in this program, which is in line with our previous initiatives to present Traveloka COVID-19 Vaccination Centers in Yogyakarta and South Tangerang. The use of technology on the Traveloka platform makes it easier for people to register online by prioritizing a structured vaccination schedule to avoid accumulation. As a lifestyle superapp, we believe that expanding collaboration and also bringing innovation are parts of the strategies in a joint effort to rise from the pandemic."

People who want to participate in the 'Vaccination at Airport' service can register through Traveloka Xperience on the Traveloka application by selecting the date and time of arrival. Traveloka also provides vouchers worth IDR 150,000.00 for products Airport Transfer (while it is available) which will be obtained after completing the registration, hence it is easier for vaccine recipients to get to the vaccination location at Soekarno-Hatta Airport or vice versa.

In addition to holding the 'Vaccination at the Airport' service, members of the public are also advised to maintain their immune system, stay at home if there are no urgent needs, and comply with health protocols, both for those who have and have not received vaccinations.
